Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Haven’t got any of those apps, hope to get KB1 at some point though.
One of my favourite things about NS2 is the big pad view - being able to play varying velocities really adds a natural feel to drums.
Yes, it's just a shame that velocity only works in the single-pad view, it would be nice if it also worked in the 16 pad view as well. That's why I'm using Xequence as a workaround.
@richardyot hmmm, maybe making a MIDI AUv3 from Xequence’s keyboard / pads module would not be the worst idea I have to think about it.
Adjacent notes? Sorry, I’m unfamiliar with that term.
Hmmm, speaking of Xequence/NS2 workflows. Is exporting midi clips from NS2 to Xequence and then doubling or halving the speed (essentially time stretch I guess) and exporting back to NS2 possible as a quickish workflow?
That is possible, but won't have any effect, as the times of the events in the MIDI file are stored as number of ticks, not absolute times. Sorry. But "proper" MIDI time stretching is on the roadmap for Xequence.
Cool, looking forward to it.
@_ki created and posted a requested StreamByter script to fix the behavior of sustain pedals with Nanostudio2.
I have tested the StreamByter script with Nanostudio 2 to see if it fixed the lack of Sustain Pedal input support. I works when:
I also tested 2 more configurations options and the script doesn't have any effect on the Obsidian Synth:
So, the script works within MidiFire but NS2 MIDI FX behavior and Network Session input do not seem to work as I would expect.
The script is posted by @_ki at the Audeonic's Forum in the StreamByter section. He also created an AUM configuration to show the script at work with a BS-16i organ preset.
@_Ki's instruments are included in this comment thread:

Another new Slate kit for anyone who's interested, based on the free Ludwig Blue Oyster Pearl kit:
The original samples are from here:

Because of the length of this thread, I didn't see an answer, but I'm curious when the eta for ns2 to be universal is
All I can say is that an iPhone version is planned and it is coming. This year (perhaps). But no exact ETA. Sorry I can't be more specific. :)
Are you on the inside or speculating?
It has been said that Audio tracks will be in the summer with the iPhone coming out before then. Maybe this has changed, not sure.
2 things I hope come in the next update. Midi AU record and better AU app list display selection as currently the select list A-Z doesn’t work as as AU apps grow we either need a search feature or app symbol list please.
no, thats still the plan.. initial fixes (work in progress), then iphone version - and then road to audio tracks... we cannot talk about any dates, but.. you know.. matt is working hard ;)
oh and don't forget super efficient convolution reverb (IAP), most probably together with iphone version...
The biggest ‘where is it?’ for me is still AUfx automation. I hope that is under ‘intitial fixes’. Oh man, just check out Beatformer (new Free AU effect) and just think how awesome it would be to automate in NS2. For now, sure, run several versions (eat up all your CPU ;) ) and automate sends; but dayum, we gotta get AUfx automation. Gotta!
This year, perhaps?
I'm hoping this is just using the opposite tactics of the original release, where instead of stating an ETA and having the actual release be much further down the line, be vague about it then "Boom!" it's here next week.
Wait. I don’t think Tom_Tm represents NS2
Oh wow! I see what you did there (now). 😂
My biggest concern is that they have iPhone platform ranked so hi on the roadmap list. It should be the last thing they worry about. Sorry small screeners.
Just bought NS2 to test Photon so how do you export midi saved in the library outside of the app?
I've created two new Slate kits, this time with percussion elements:
Tambourines:

Sleigh Bells:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5oxlsecg3x2yy6b/Sleigh%20Bells.zip?dl=0
I tested it (in latest beta which i have currently installed ) and works like a breeze :)
Not sure i understand your question - you are asking how to export midi FROM NS2 ?
If this, then go to Settings > Files > Manage MIDI files... in that screen locate your midi files, seelct them and in “three dot” menu is Export
Other direction (Photon -> NS2) - after you choose “open in Nanostudio” from Photon, midi files are saved to NS “Inbox” folder in Library.
To put midi on track, just in sequencer tap middle top icon and drag midi file to existing track - then import dialogue appears.
They’re great these Richard. Downloaded your other kits this morning, really good, thank you.
My pleasure - and there's more on the way!
@richardyot is doing great job with all those kits , superb quality !
great thx - will update my manual to show the process 1) record Photon 2) share to NS2 library 3) import into tracks 4) edit 5) export to library 6) share to Photon
Ah. That would be telling wouldn't it? Best to keep you in the dark and guessing. :)
