Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • Great guitar work and nice tones! Recorded in Garageband on iPad or Mac?
    Which amp sim? :)

  • Thanks! That was GarageBand on the iMac from 2007 I believe. The amp was a Tech21 Trademark 10 and was run direct using the xlr output on the amp. They make great amps and pedals. Check out there gear at the tech21nyc. I no longer have any of there gear though. I'm a fan of Ampkit and Jam up Pro which the latter has a sansamp sim which is made by Tech21 and would allow you to match or come close to the tone I got through the amp.

Hi. Here's mine https://soundcloud.com/villavillekulla. Thanks for listening!

  • Very nice girlvsworld, has a His Name Is Alive or Lisa Germano feel. I love the harmonies.

@girlvsworld I really enjoyed that track (The Open Door) - great production! :)

  • @Evangelos Thanks! I really need to upload some current music that was actually made with audiobus;) Great guitar from you as we'll in "Your Eyes" great groove and a very nice "Bowie" vocal moment at 1:27!

  • Here is my soundcloud. Not all the songs were written on Ipad.

  • http://soundcloud.com/loopingstar Probably the most recent 7 or 8 tracks were put together using Audiobus in one way or another. Lots of other per-Audiobus stuff up if slightly strange Electronica is your thing !

  • Sounds good loopingstar.

This is one of the songs I was talking about in my previous post (sorry, forgot to post the direct link). It uses mainly iOS apps, with the exception of some rhythms and effects generated by the Korg monotribe, guitars and vocals. The rest is pure iPad.

    • WaveGenerator – Wolfgang Palm (in the begining, low pitched pad in the background).

    • Flute samples from Mellotronics M3000 for iPad – omenie, processed by Samplr – Marcos Alonso (in the begining as well).

    • Peter Vogel CMI Pro - Peter Vogel Instruments Pty Ltd (strange strings, first verse).

    • Samplr - Marcos Alonso (Effects on vocals).

    • Korg iELECTRIBE – KORG INC. (“dubstep” groove on the choruses and all the ending part).

    • Sunrizer synth – BeepStreet (low pitched Arpeggios on the choruses and all the ending part).

    • Electronic Piano Synthesizer – Christian Bacaj (Electric Piano, second verse).

    • WaveMapper – Wolfgang Palm (strange texture, second verse).

    • SynthTronica - Leisuresonic (Vocoders, middle part).

    • WaveMapper – Wolfgang Palm (melodies, begining of the ending part).

    • Cassini Synth for iPad – iceWorks, Inc. (“vintage” synth lines on the final vocal part and at the very end of the song).

    • Mellotronics M3000 for iPad - omenie (choir at the very end).

  • hey guys and gals - relative newbie here, been lurking for a few months. Im loving making music on my ipad. A little history - played guitar in a few bands back in the days after high school. Got into REBIRTH in 1997 or 1998 and was one of the first people to purchase REASON back when it came out - also used Acid, and then Ableton Live. But i lost interest and got busy with life and didnt do much much for a few years - but i`m back in action as they say.

Most of my workflow involves recording various soft synths and apps into Loopy to jam out songs - which is a great workflow ive found. Ive got several great groove sessions already - but need to arrange and mix them in BeatMaker when i get time. But this weekend i completed a song in Garageband that I thought turned out pretty nicely and I though I would share with you guys and see what you think.

anyways, take a listen if you have a few minutes. not perfect in any way - kinda lost focus on the guitar at the end .. and ive found GB mixing is very limited to say the least. Its slower instrumental piano and guitar groove - nothing revolutionary musically speaking... but i hope you might enjoy.

    thanks

  • oh, and i should say i`ve found this a really great community for anything ios related... lots of positive thinking and great people around here. and have learned many great tips so thanks to those who have provided...

  • @FRibereiro great sound- i love the contrastung sections and a great mix!

@Halftone Nice feel to this, I kept feeling it needs a melody or vocal over the top?

  • @FRibereiro - like the sound. I'd like to see Cassini and M3000 added to the bus. I was thinking that it would be great if there is a way to snapshot the sections of music so you could see what apps are being used.

@Halftone - nice piece as well. Glad to see you're back into music. I followed a similar path...I put music down for almost 16 years as my kids were growing up. They're both playing music now though, and that got me back into it.

  • i`m with you - my 10 year old daughter has made a few tunes in Garageband and Figure - and has been having a TON of fun with Yellofier lately. Sampling everything in the house...

  • Got a couple of tracks up here, neither iOS at present, but quite a few on the way.

Not a lot up there yet - I'm more of a music hobbiest than an actual musician. ;)
