Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.Download on the App Store
Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Still no multi core support for audio processing on iOS?
I know there was a thread about this, but wonder if anything’s changed since then.
I read that all the audio processing of all the music apps at any given moment is locked to only one core. As I understand it’s the main reason why all the modern iPads with their powerful processors underperform intel based systems by so much.
So I wonder maybe anyone was able to implement multi core processing for audio, especially in a host app?
And why is it so much harder than on intel based platforms? Is there an architectural difference in Apple processors which makes it impossible?
