Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

  • In our tests, we found that Auria is no more taxing on an iPad than any other audio apps unless you start adding effects. Auria allows you to really max out the system by letting you go crazy with plugins, Audiobus, IAA, etc. Remember that the plugins available in Auria are the same ones available in professional DAWs like Pro Tools, so they can really tax your system if you're not careful. If you have an iPad 2, I recommend keeping an eye on the CPU and memory meters as you start adding effects. Also, the more audio apps you run in the background at the same time, the less memory and CPU you'll have available for apps like Auria. So it's a good idea to start from a clean slate by closing all your apps any time you want to work on a large project.

If you have any issues at all with running Auria, just post something on our Auria forum. We'll be glad to help you out.
