    I’ll start.

Always. My dear dad's favourite. Still can't quite believe he's gone (Christmas does that). Or Kirsty for that matter.

(Incidentally, apropos of another thread recently, featuring a prominent designer/artist and resulting album covers)
Cristina Monet was featured in this image mutilated by Jean-Paul Goude:

And a year or two later, he did the same sort of thing to Grace Jones

From which he went on to do this

And then, using similar cut-up assisted photo retouching techniques of the 80s, this

  • I stared at the cover art way too long.. this is awkward...

    Yearly wipeout.

  • Easy choice, for me. I never tire of it, but I've never really been tested, either. Curious to know how well played it is in other countries.

  • Thread related, but not Christmas-y...

  • The Goodies - Father Christmas Do Not Touch Me (seems to have been uploaded to YouTube 7 hours ago!)

  • Ah, yes - I remember that Grace Jones pictures.
    Quite impressive!

  • One of my favourites

I really want to hear the @Bluepunk extended updated version of this....

Got in before me, that track is fecking peerless for me.

I guess I need to mention South Park’s Merry F$&*ing Christmas too.

  • Darlene Love All Alone on Christmas.

  • This has been playing in my place all week

  • Santa Clause go straight to the ghetto by soul brother number one.
The past two years it’s been William Burroughs “A Junkie’s Christmas.”
Seriously give it a chance . I can’t stop listening to it.
Bleak mid winter is a beauty. And man, that Pouges song is a gem @JohnnyGoodyear. Thanks.

Promising signs indeed. I have a 12 yo who doesn't know she has tickets for Taylor Swift next year, I'm hoping she's still popular in 9 month's time (Taylor and my daughter).

  • I still always like this classic:

The film short based on the Burroughs piece is also great.

Thanks for that. I hadn’t seen it. I think you would like Christmas with the Ventures based on the video you posted.

Yes, indeed. That is how I discovered that Mermen clip; the wife had put on a playlist of surf Xmas material and the Ventures were understandably well represented.
