Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

At last...as a windows user I am not excited but it's a nice start. The guy could offered it as iap but I'm glad it's free. Audio should come next (technically possible since midi works)
And midi clock works ! (tested on vmware- I don't have a mac)...If apple can take advantage of usb3 power it would be great.
BTW the dev will try porting to iOS 7....(still for Yosemite distro)
Ios7 lucky users now have midi over usb. It's cool since the iPad mini (draw less power) can stay charged for hours in the USB port.
o.O
Thanks @boso ,just send an email
So do I need an A male to A male transfer cable to make this work between my mac and iPad?
Just the standard cable which comes with your i-device
BTW the midi usb app does not require Yosemite. From

Ok thanks Korakios! I was thinking I had to use the cck, hence my brain melt.
Interesting, would love to see midi via bluetooth on the PC, could then use Thumbjam to control my Windows only VST's.
Can i have midi over usb with my ipad ios7? What driver do i need? On windows for that, i cant wait to use Nave in Ableton
Look this http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/7656/send-midi-between-ipad-and-mac-directly-by-usb#latest
Works on Windows without drivers.

Does midi le only work in one direction? I can only seem to get it to go from iPad to mac but not from mac to iPad.
MusicIO is also out, very cheap, bought it tonight. MIDI into Logic and vice versa work beautifully. Audio pass through will be a free update for early adopters. Music IO: MIDI over USB by Secret Base Design
