Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Amazon Amp lets you host a streaming radio channel

This looks kind of neat. Amazon Amp lets you dj a streaming radio station using Amazon’s streaming music catalog.

I have mixed feelings about streaming services, but this is a very neat feature that’s easy to add on top when you already have the rights to stream so much music.

What do you think? I don’t know if anyone will ever be the next John Peel, especially as you won’t be able to play a tape that a new band sent in, but it could be pretty great in the right hands.

  • That's kind of cool. A way for budding DJ's to put on their own shows?

  • That’s what I was thinking. And all the copyright is taken care of.

I wonder what it could bring about. Audio documentaries, for example?

And l’ll have to dig into the copyright aspect. Does Amazon claim copyright on your spoken performance, for example?
