Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

New Bluetooth MIDI keyboard controller

edited March 25 in Hardware

I just picked up this keyboard for $45 shipped on eBay and it arrived today. Brand is labeled “Asmuse” but it’s obviously the same as the Lekato and various other brand names. They’re on the other usual shopping platforms as well.

It workedwell on first try today, the Bluetooth was found right away and there was no issue controlling GarageBand, minimoog, and a few other apps. The keyboard works well enough for my horrendous keyboard playing, and the pads felt good. The knobs are continuous encoders and worked well when I assigned them in minimoog.

The pitch bend and mod strips are REALLY sensitive, so I’ll need to get used to not accidentally touching the mod strip when reaching for something else. I’m going to mark the center spot on the pitch bend as well, because if you touch it the pitch immediately goes to that spot then moves as you slide your finger. There may be a setting that I haven’t discovered yet to change that behavior, or I may just have to get used to it.

I’ll use it more tonight, I had to do some mixes today.

  • Nice find!
Maybe a thin strip of masking tape on the PB center position would help?
