What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. Goose's Wild - Daveypoo, The Mobile Music Minstrel

My new tune, stuffed with fat grooves, cookin' just right to give you a gaggle of goosebumps. I hope you're all down with this one.

  • Hi Dave! Fat is the right word ! That baritone sax dancing with your bass in the low end is top notch. Sounds great!
    Did you use SWAM apps?

  • Another kick ass R&B band tune meticulously crafter to be a band @Daveypoo would love to play with live. (He's a bass player but he could hold down the keyboard duties as well).

Nice work Dave. The drums are masterful. Sometimes you have to hand craft a your own set to get it just right to match the style of the tune. I saw on Youtube that you did just that here.
You must have a great collection of drum/percussion samples.

Thanks, @JanKun - this was a sort-of Eddie Harris meets Motown mashup. The baritone sax was the SWAM Baritone app and the tenor was GeoSWAM Tenor in GeoShred. I've been wanting to use the bari for a while and it took me some time to get the bass part and bari part just right for this one. There are so many Motown tracks with that baritone sax hanging out down in the low end, I really wanted that vibe here.

@McD 90% of the drum samples I have are free from the web, so it's just a matter of finding the ones that suit the style. Then also pitching them up or down by a couple of semitones can give a wildly different overall feel to the whole kit. Like I've said, it just takes some time and diligence to dial it in the way I want it, and time is the thing I've got in spades - I'm certainly not working under a deadline.

Here's the secret to great Motown drums - watch the movie Standing in the Shadows of Motown. There's a fantastic bit in there where Pistol Allen breaks down the pickup fills from each of the classic Motown drummers (Benny Benjamin, Uriel Jones & himself, Pistol Allen).

  • Loose as a goose, my friend. Loved the beginning and the B3. Sorry to hear about the elections. WTF. You’ve gone from one extreme to another. Talk about an appointment in Samarra! Still, I’m sure the enchantment of Italy remains. Stay happy, bro.

  • What are you gonna do - the world is going to shit. At least I've got a good view...

Glad you dug the tune @LinearLineman . Despite the politics, this is a very inspiring place to be.

  • Excellent!

"this was a sort-of Eddie Harris meets Motown mashup." --- I was trying to think of the right phrase to describe it and there it is!

Detroit jams with Memphis on a Goose Casino Boat?

  • The Funk Brothers playing Chicago jazz in Montreux after a day at Monte Carlo.

And geese - LOTS of geese.

  • Tremendously lively and catchy track, plenty of stuffing and hardly any crackling…

  • Thanks, @GeoTony - I'm so glad you liked it.

@Daveypoo this really honks my horn. Totally down and dirty. The melody rolls right off me like water off the back. (looking for bread crumbs in the lake right now...)

    LOVE the layers of horns!

(you been messing with AI art in the video?)

  • Thanks @audiblevideo - so glad you're down with it!

Yeah - the AI art for "gambling geese" and related items were too funny not to make a full video of.
