Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

I wish Apple adapted MagSafe tech to iOS although having cables detach during a live set doesn’t sound like fun.

No need to wait for apple.....

(Most of them charge only but there's plenty that do data. Not sure how much I'd trust a magnetic thunderbolt cable....)

Yes I have that as a regular iPhone charging cable which is super useful because I’ve already replaced the charging port component on my 6s twice and realised that replacement parts are much more prone to malfunction. It’s especially good because it stops fluff and debris getting into your port!!

Strangely the lightning one I have only has contacts on one side and also doesn’t work with iPads, just iPhones. What brand are you using? I’m guessing yours is USB-c?

My pro with USB C is permanently sitting in my suitcase rig so I don’t find the need to use any ‘clever’ solutions.

  • I don't use them. Fine for charging only for people who never plug anything into their device but a charger I guess.
