Balanced Cables (monitor)
For 2 years, since i use active monitors in my home studio setup, i always had a faint 50Hz, hiss or sometimes computer-monitor digital crackle coming out of my studio-monitors.
I always thought that the audio-interface was the cause of the problem, because i don't have grounded wall-sockets in my studio-room.
After reading the manual of the interface, i noticed that the audio-output has the option for the use of balanced cable, as well as the monitors.
I ordered a pair of balanced cables (1/4"Jack from Greyhound), and poof!. Dead silence 
So, my lesson for the week: If you have the option to use balanced cables, use it!
