That's just seems to set the tone of the thread as just a little on the uninviting side of persuasion... IMO...
@horsetrainer, it’s not how I would have done it.... if I say it was done tongue in cheek by the OP I only compound the ill chosen invitation. But the OP does cast him as forum royalty, so let us say it balances out on the bottom (oops, can’t help it, it seems) line.
I think @McD was the first forum member I connected with here. Mutual tolerance and forbearance is at the base, slavered with healthy swaths of jive and jabs. I’m sure the fabled but elusive humor font was on in the OP’s mind. McD, as it’s creator, knows the dangers of its misuse better than anyone. I doubt he took offense at another’s fecund wit.
More likely feels he rather shine the spotlight on others. He doesn’t see himself as an artist... more like a mad basement researcher, I believe. He has the most encyclopedic knowledge of this and that than anyone here, I think. Aleksey @JoyceRoadStudios comes close, but he strikes me as a bit of a specialist. McD is a generalist without an army. He sallies forth on a stream of consciousness aboard a hovercraft of enlightening hot air.
If he shows, that’s great, but, like Melania, he cultivates a mystique of opacity. I think there may even be a wooden statue of him somewhere in California holding an astrolabe and a Twinkie. But, alas, it’s probably ash by now. Sail on, McD, the snug harbor is not yet in sight.
Just joking. McD has a lot of fun on this forum and was just continuing the trend. I believe he has also joked on AMA threads that he has created (all of them). If I offended anybody, I apologize
