Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Philips Natlab
Last week I’ve bought a limited edition vinyl set of the Philips Natlab productions.
It’s Tapemusic that was produced during the same time as the BBC Radiophonic workshop did (it may even pre-dates the BBC workshop). Since I wasn’t able to find more about it on this forum I thought it would be nice to share an excerpt of one particular piece. It has some sort of techno feel to it but was originally published in 1961. For those who are interested in more, in iTunes you are able to download a lot more from Dick Raaijmakers a.k.a Kid Balkan, Tom Dissevelt and Henk Badings. It’s quite interesting from a sound design point of view.
Comments
Dick is speaking the Dutch language in this video but I think it’s a really nice video that is showing the process.
thanks a lot @Bietfriek best way to begin this saturday !
Medhanical synthesis. Sweet!! 😁
Excellent. Some early way before Kraftwerk inspired stuff
Got myself a MakeNoise Morphagene that behaves like some sort of digital tapeloop and yesterday on holiday I’ve bought a green Lyra-8 for the weirdness 🤟 Can’t wait to be home!
Old thread but found an interesting documentary about the Natlab that has English subtitles. I myself found it pretty interesting. https://www.npostart.nl/kamer-306-kraamkamer-van-de-electronica/11-02-2013/WO_VPRO_118194
How are you getting on with the Lyra-8?
I still like it and it’s uniqueness. On iPad I also run Mononoke and Shoom but the Lyra has something special. I did sell my Eurorack though and invested in the Moog sound studio 3 and a MacOS setup.
Blasphemy!
So you sold your modular for a “semi” modular modular from one vendor
Yup, I had a DFAM before and liked it, also dig the Mother 32 and Subharmonicon. For the Eurorack feeling I can still rely on VCV, MiRack and my almost complete Softube Modular environment.
Fascinating documentary, particularly the part about the creation of Poème Electronique.
