Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Help understanding midi
I have a few different controllers and I sort of get the basics of midi but mostly just plug in and play. As great as that is I'm sure I could get much more out of it all if I had a better understanding of how it works. I'm looking for a website, tutorial or article explaining it in layman's terms but something with a bit of depth. Any links or help much appreciated

Brilliant, seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks
Very interesting analogy to an AV remote control on the video. I never considered that, but I think that's one of the best analogies I've heard for helping someone new to midi.
