Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

My list of most-used, workhorse music apps for 2018. The envelope generator, please... 😄
    (in no particular order)
    Bebot
All PPG apps (including MiniMapper for iPhone)
    AUM, AudioShare, and Audiobus 3
    Aparillo
    Cyclop
    Korg Module
    SampleWiz
    Samplr
    KB-1 and RM-1
    AniMoog
    UVI Beathawk
    Noise
    GeoShred pro
    BM 3
    Rozetta
ThumbJam, DrumJam, BumJam... (ok, i made that last one up)

(Unfortunately, a slightly inebriated Bebot gives a rambling, unintelligible award acceptance speech, punctuated by random flatulent noises. Robots can’t handle their liquor! 🤖😅)

  • Best new apps for me:

    Riffer
    Ruismaker Noir
    Spacecraft
    Aparillo
    Discord4

Lot's of other good stuff about - it's been a very good year for music apps - but those are the ones that stand out for me.

  • When I think best app of the year - one comes to mind first and foremost ... Spacecraft!

  • NS2 - speeding up and making starting songs less stressful than some apps. I was dubious with all the hype, but it works for me.
Cubasis recording from Noise, iFretless Bass and now GeoShred.
The sample plus instruments of Embertone - would love to see more of this style of app.

Not all new, but it’s what I’ve loved this year.

For next year, I just want to see more apps play nicely and the whole process further gel into a smooth and pleasurable process and less like having to jam square pegs in round holes :)

  • Top 10 depending on how much i use them at the moment:
    1. Model D
    2. Zeeon
    3. DRC
    4. Model 15
    5. Finger Fiddle
    6. Mitosynth
    7. GarageBand
    8. TF8
    9. Animoog
    10. iSymphonic
I bet next year NanoStudio2 will be on Nr.1

  • Ruismaker Noir ...definitely my favorite new app.

Used daily, in no particular order:
    Modstep
    Icegear Laplace, Lorentz, Redshrike
    Ruismaker OG, FM
    Virsyn Audiolayer
    Virsyn Tera

  • Stagelight gave me back the joy of easy fiddling around :)

  • edited December 2018

    Ripplemaker
    Phasemaker

    --2018 AudioGus Spew--

    What a year!

Biggest Game Shifting Paradigm Changer - NS2 - It is my new hub. It is where tunes begin (and possibly end) for me on iOS now. Blew my mind right out of left field and this is even without audio tracks or AUfx automation yet. Amazed, gobsmacked at it's simplicity and playflowy utility. I can't trust my own assumptions or beliefs of what I think I need or even want anymore. Mighty devs, show me the way for soon I burn my PC in your honor.

Mightiest Synth - Synthmaster One - a robust, real deal, broad power synth. The new bar on iOS.

They Actualy Did It Award - Aparillo (they actually did it!) - For me she is the twisted sister of Synthmaster One. These two form a mighty duo!

Where is it? Award - Synthmaster One packs

You Da Man Award - Chaztrip

Best Monzo Award - There can only be one.

Most Anticipated Sexy Sexy Tease - Drambo

Tip of the Hat / Bump of the Fist - Spacecraft / Kleverb / ProQ2

Best Beta - PolyPhase - Squeal!

    Best Finger Drummer - Drez

Kindred Spirit / Guiding Light - Johnny Goodyear

Next Years OMG Award - Complete Fabfilters bundle promo code for AudioGus? (A boy can dream...)

    Grind
@audiogus thanks for mention of PolyPhase, trying now.

It's a good one. Once all the bells and whistles are in, dayum!

  • 🏅🏆🏅 An award goes to all who have contributed to this list! I’m researching many of your suggestions. Thanks to those who mentioned Discord 4 since i had overlooked that one.

    @AudioGus... 😄 high-larious and informative. Thanks!
    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Korg Electribe Wave, probably one of my favorite apps of all time.

  • Of the apps I have bought this year:

    • Synthmaster One
    • iBassist
    • Quanta
    • Audiokit D1

With honourable mentions to Zeeon, Ape Matrix and St Just Organ, just because I haven’t yet fully got into them yet. And for DAWs I am split depending on the project between Auria, Cubasis and Gadget.

  • Of stuff that atually came out this year:

    apeMatrix
    NanoStudio 2
    Model D
    Patterning 2
    Pro-Q 2
    Kosmonaut
    Ratshack Reverb
    DAW Cassette
    Kleverb
    RE-1

  • edited December 2018

    For me it’s 80% Nanostudio 2 just now, and 20% Beatmaker 3...

But, honestly, I’ve certainly bought 100 apps this year with a lot of awesome stuff...
Coming back with a more precise list...

Ohhh, by the way, but, Synthmaster One may be the best synth ever to iPad (personal opinion)...
