Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.Download on the App Store
Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Swift for Android!?!?
I was reading Brambos’s excellent essay and found this linked at the bottom of the site:
This is some crazy exciting news for me. I always have a low-level dread running through me for the day when this great iOS music scene/experiment dies and is no more. My predictions usually revolve around Apple being responsible for the demise of iOS music, and all of these amazing apps will stop being created and evolving. This article brings me hope that we may never have to see the day when Apple kills all of our fun. Also, this could mean an additional revenue stream for the developers. I know many developers stay far away from Android, but if the money is calling you you may want to take another look. This Swift development seems like it could save a lot of the pain of going cross-platform.
(Apple’s next move will be to change Swift to put the kibosh on this cross-platform nonsense, for sure.)
