Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

New Experimental Piece: Dark Concrete Industrial Goth

BPM 90

Time: Took 1.5 hours to do.

Recorded: Basically all the loops were recorded into Loopy and then "played" back while being recorded. Sent to Audioshare and posted. I don't get into mixing jams like this. Not enough time in the day.

Apps Used:
Piano - Beat Hawk -> Dedalus -> FAC
Drums - Sector playing loop from Patterning I did
Drums - New Reactable Drum app Snap
Bass, Synth, Chords, and all other Fx with Animoog.
Voice altered in Twisted Wave after originally singing/talking

This is not the happiest of songs but it is what I do so I hope you enjoy. Its morbid and spiritual component running directly into the mechanical nature of harsh sounds and banging to contrast the dark layers of vocal gloom.

While I am here.

This was one recording all recorded in 1 take.

This is a little live jam I did playing Model 15 and sequencing Animoog while singing. I had the lyrics laying around and was playing some chords so I decided to sequence Animoog for the percussion and sing the words.

Totally spontaneous. I often am with Model 15 or Nave and Animoog like this. Many times I use the Pocket Operator for the beat and play for like an hour or so trying new chord progressions and switching back and forth with one app being sequenced by Genome for a baseline or beat and the other being played.

Thanks for checking out my recent jams as I finish up the new home studio music room at my new home in Florida.

  • Both excellent and suitably strange in the ways of the RUSTiK

    Thanks my brother!

I appreciate your feedback in serious regard and reverence.

  • Man, I’m really into it! My brain works in mysterious ways, it immediately reminded me of this piece. Glitchy rhythm.

That is a cool nuero tag.

I think I get it though actually.

  • Both very cool. The first one is about as dark as you can get; it's tough to get the lyrics of course. But wonderful mixes on both. Both set moods, which is something I have to get from a piece of music.

    FYI

    SONG 1

Do you hate your life and wish you were dead
Are you alone and have no friends
Do you know how it ends
Its the same way it all began

Do you pay the price in the end
Did you turn your 9 lives into 10
Did you forget how this all began
With the dark beat inside your head

Do you wish you were out of control
Deep down dirty inside a hole
Do you want to be alive again
With the dark beat inside your head

You feel late but know the time
Sitting in the shadows feeling fine
Do you walk the line between here and there?
The dark beat is life or death

Thanks. Very dark indeed, but I understand it completely. ;)

This one got me. Very soulful, perfect for these grey autum days.
    Keep ‘em comin.
