Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

I still use samplewiz for that on the phone as it can re pitch without affecting the tempo of the sample
Oh it does?
I love Jordan's apps.
Geo Synth is still a vintage fave
Yeah you set it to "modern" sampling mode
Agreed. It is great for that.

Does "Playable Synth" mean just play the sound or make the sample an oscillator in a synth?
e-l-s-a is a quite fun sampler on the iPhone as well
Seconded
Didn't think of that!
Keyboard vs MPC style pad
God I have it and never got ittt??
What's to get? Point a sound at hit, hit record and then play the sound. Last I tried, sampling worked fine via AB as well. Could hit record via the AB sidebar.
