Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

ab remote backup to iTunes

Hello

I have an iPhone 4s with no wi-fi, so I'd like to use iTunes to update AB remote. However, the AB remote App doesn't show up in ITunes after backing up from another device that has AB remote (iTunes 12.3.2 on OSX 10.11.3). Also it's not appearing in my purchased Apps on the App store, though Audiobus and all my other Apps are there.

Can you help explain this please? I don't think I'm being stupid and I definitely own the App and think it's brilliant.

Thanks for any light on this.

  • Have now happily found I can re-download Audiobus Remote from the App store, but still curious to know why it doesn't appear in iOS device backups?

  • To answer my own problem - this is apparently an iOS 9 innovation called 'App thinning', where downloads direct to devices are 'sliced' to the needs of the device. These Apps are not then included in iTunes backups, that can be done via the iTunes App store - seems a shame that iTunes doesn't tell you something's missing and you have to go and find it manually.
