Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus as a live playback option

I would like to use audiobus to put a couple of piano apps into Music Studio. In the past, to change apps I had to close one and open another one. I'd like to put ilectric and Igrand on separate tracks in Music Studio using Audiiobus. This way I can switch apps with one touch. How can I do this so I can use my apps live? Or I might like to load several apps and have them all appear in separate tracks.
Thanks
Chuck

  • Audiobus will allow 3 apps in input slot.

  • ... and you'll be able to record them into different tracks, provided your DAW app supports it. I'm not sure if MusicStudio does though.

Expanding the use of apps through Audiobus in a live situation, yesterday I had a very cool experience with two iPad units running together.
There are numerous possibilities, but I've had a good time with iKaossilator + Turnado in one iPad and iElectribe + Live FX in the other, using WIST to sync them.
Audiobus sure opens lots of doors for experiments of this kind as well. :)
