Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

AUv3 synths which send out Parameter Values as MIDI CCs

Hi all,
unfortunately there seems to be no synth which sends MIDI CCs when tweaking parameters.
This would be a huge improvement, especially if you use Hardware MIDI controllers with Encoders and LED rings or displays …

  • Hi,
This has been requested, discussed couple of times.
Generally, software instruments rarely transmit or generate midi. They rely on host for this type of functionality. On host side it’s possible, but requires individual support for each controller, which pushes it down on priority list.

You can find workarounds that may suit individual use cases. Sharing more about exactly what you’re trying to achieve, would help the helpers :)

  • @Ploe If you use StreamByter in Audiobus, you can send the CCs on the synth and back to the controller. StreamByter can modify the feedback messages as required by the controller input. I do this with a Behringer Xtouch Mini, which has 8 encoders and 16 buttons. The script maps the 8 knobs into 8 banks of 8 CCs, reloading the knob values when switching banks.
