Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Trouble at Dropbox???

Should we start backing-up our files just in case???

"Dropbox is laying off 315 employees, or 11% of its workforce.

CEO Drew Houston said layoffs were "necessary" to implement new strategies, like investing in distributed work tools and evolving the core product, in an announcement on Wednesday"

Nah. No need to panic over something like that.

(But it’s foolish not to have critical files from any cloud service not backed up somewhere. )

  • Very true, wim!

  • For anyone looking for private cloud* backup:

    1. Raspberry pi (with Internet/WiFi connection)
    2. Attached usb hard drive
    3. Docker image of or direct install of NextCloud (opensource freeware)

    Details are on the internets

  • I doubt they will disappear overnight, but best to always keep an eye on the financial health of any technology company that you rely on.

They won't go completely tits-up out of the blue. Long before that you'll see a cycle of more ratcheting down of the services you can get for free and increasing of prices for the non-free ones ... leading to more people bailing on them ...

We saw the beginning of this when they limited the number of devices you could link using the free account types. That it hasn't gotten worse is encouraging.

Or more likely some bad actor, or our own sun, will light up a decent sized EMP that will fry the internet. When that happens, our Dropbox files will be the least of our worries.
