Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • cool dude ... B)

  • The Amiga 500 has a very special place in my heart. I'd love an app that specialised in making Amiga style music.... soooo many classic tunes!!

  • Wow. Thanks for the video

  • Loved the Amiga - I used to do some freelance work for UK magazine Amiga User International. The graphics and sound capabilities were ahead of their time.

  • Memories... lately helping my brother with his retro-builds (MSX) and diggin the possibilities... Amiga was the machine but I get Fasttrstracker on pc (over ‘90s) even with diy Dac conversor and later an audio excel (sound blaster clone) and Awe32 (dreaming about Gravis Ultra Sound...)
Future music magazine and Fruity loops... then the first mac and Ableton and finally the iPad. Some hardware over the years bought, sold, bought again, sold again...
Samplers like Roland VariOS, sp555, turntables and vestax mixers...

Lately I can’t find my inspiration. I get old and less angry so I have less energy to write (and even less to rap)... I enjoy less things each year gone. Just helping others makes me still be on this field. Even loopers and keytars are losing my interest...

but sampling has something special. I saw the video and it moves me.

I still search for samplers even I probably will not use them after bought them.

Nostalgia... I miss those times and that young spirit. Friends being creative, music meaning something...

  • @reasOne Thanks for sharing this video!

It's great, fun to watch and informative! Nice track too!
I never had an Amiga and in those years I went the MIDI way with an Atari ST.

The whole channel looks extremely interesting!

Apple II and AlphaSyntauri here .. pre-midi. I was at NAMM the year Midi was introduced and man that changed everything .. major gear lust. Watching the iPad and it’s apps mature these past years kinda takes me back to those old days watching the whole midi scene mature.

Me too, not for music, but for being the first thing I had to play games on and where that love was born. Pirated floppies and terrible rave music visualizations... lol

I did do some research a while, ago on Amiga sounds as you can get stuff on ios that makes c64 esque stuff based on that chip.

Ice creeeeaaaaamm, Ice creeeeaaaaammmm.... (for anyone that remembers)

Me and my mates wasted so many hours playing that game, one of my favourite games ever! I’d kill for a version on my Switch.. So many great titles for the Amiga like Sensible Soccer, the other top-down Ikari Warriors type thing from Sensible (forget the name), IK+, Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge, as well as the aforementioned S2. Incredible machine!

As far as music, I was a heavy MED, and then OctaMED, user.

There’s an iOS version I think if it’s not discontinued. :) Cannon fodder, the top down sensible thing?

  • I used to have an Amiga 500 and I still have an working (I think?) Amiga 1200 in the cupboard which I might fire up one day - they were really great computers which were years ahead of their time. I was a heavy OctaMED user in the 90s and made loads of (mainly) loop/sample based tracks.

A LOT of famous rave and jungle tracks were made using Amigas with OctaMED or similar. People who had music hardware went the Atari ST way cos of the MIDI ports and Cubase, but people making tunes on the cheap using samples instead of hardware used Amigas!

  • When I sequenced my gear on an Atari 1040 ST, I didn't even know what was possible on the A500 music-wise :D

    Tried SidTracker 64? It's a Commodore 64 chiptune tracker: http://sidtracker64.com/

And I haven't tried this, but it looks very similar to OctaMED and pretty fun: http://www.vividtracker.com/

  • Best tracker on iOS without any real competition is SunVox :)
(It loads most MOD/XM/S3M/IT files files without a hitch just drop them in the SunVox folder using Files.app).

For 'chip-style' sounds SquareSynth 2 is hard to beat and well being a SID-Junkie SidTracker64 holds a special place in my heart.

    Deflemask is another candidate...

    Yes, Cannon Fodder! Thanks!

  • Cannon Fodder and Sensible Soccer, top notch ... on an Atari ST for me though, couldn’t afford an Amiga but it did get me into MIDI and sampling via a cartridge thingy.

I remember upgrading to a double sided floppy drive, heady days.

I miss my ZX81 and it’s dodgy ram pack. Shoulda kept it but you don’t have that foresight when you’re 10. :)

  • Great find. This guy did a pretty wild set with a sega megadrive. Im blown away!
Trackers and the people that use them! Legend

I’ve finally been cracking through on how to coherently use SunVox lately and holy shit it’s deep

Hahaha! Speedball 2 is one of those games where everyone you meet would proudly claim they could kick your ass as it. Like Mario Kart!

    Brutal Deluxe baby :sunglasses:

  • Ha! Love the amiga but I owned an Atari ST and then a 4 megabytes STE. Was really fond it so much. I had an ST replay 8 bit sampler which I used with a french audio software called digital impact. Got my first bearing on midi also with the atari. Learned a lot and also did a lot of coding in 68000 doing small demos and utilities. Also had this custom made cartridge that I bought from somebody where I could put my soft on it.

I still have all my gear and I fired it up a few ago and the HD still worked which was amazing. hahaha

Anyway thoses interested in running theses can check out Winuae emulator or STeem emulator. Both are really amazing and still being developed!

I got an Amiga 1200 + Technousound sampling card + Ocatamed after selling my Akai s700. My sampling time went from up from seconds to minutes! :) I was really impressed at the time..

Oh yah, Octamed was my last Amiga tracker. Loved it. The eight channels was a bit too crunchy for me though so I would borrow a friends amiga and sample four tracks into one.

Yeah.. If I remember correctly that 8 channel limit was the reason I replaced it with another hardware sampler :)

It seemed to crunch the eight virtual tracks at runtime into the four uh, 'system outputs' so it was a little crappy sounding to me. When I moved on to PC with Fast Tracker and had real stereo channels I was in heaven. If I had more laptop time I would certainly love to get to know Renoise better which is super fun and flowly to me given my tracker DNA. Being able to work mouse-lessly with it looks pretty rad but would take some time to master.

  • Ahhh octamed... 800bpm lol
Loved cannon fodder and sensi soccer.
There was an awesome 3d vector style golf game we played forever.
When I find it I’ll share.

I had a sequencer on my Amiga 500, no idea what name it had but that was my first digital way of driving my Emu Systems Emax II. Loved the Amiga 500, an upgrade from my first computer, the Atari ST.

  • Amiga was the shizzle. I spent so many fun hours doing Mod tracking on an Amiga 500 back in the day. Great times.

  • Amiga 1200
    with 20 mb hdd:)
    and ProTracker.

    my youth.
