Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Tonebridge. (I do not have it, so I can't comment on quality, but have read good things about it.)

iFX Rack can be OK for guitars too. Not great, but usable.

Stark ... I like it OK. Generally bad reviews from those I respect around here. I have no complaints as long as the internal cabinet emulation is off and I use an IR Loader (Rooms!) for cabinet emulation.

  • I may be mistaken, but I think @Greenie is talking about an AUv3 guitar instrument.

Oops. GeoShred then. Sounds nothing like a guitar to me, but it's a great app.

  • Thanks Jipumarino Have Geoshred Pro. Not quite what I was after, not sure I like the pluckyness which seems to prevail on most presets ,while I haven’t messed around with parameters, there may well be some that might suit me. Thanks again for reminding. greenie

  • iFretless Guitar will be AUv3 soon-ish I think

  • Here are 2 videos focussing on IOS guitar sounds

  • @Greenie @wim to be clear: I'm not recommending it, it's always been expensive enough for me to not "just try it"; I only mentioned it because it is an option that some people rave about ;)
