What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Overview:

The Soundwhale iOS application is a streamlined version of the full macOS version. Users can connect their audio hardware or software applications that use Audiobus. Users can either work alone or connect with others.

Creation: The intention here is not to create finalized audio, but something fast yet high quality that you can bring back to the studio or share with others during the creation process.

Review/Approval: iOS users can review final audio mixes in realtime from the desktop application. This also includes mixes that are synchronized to video.

While connected, users can communicate with text, audio, or video chat.

Soundwhale iOS is an application that has 3 main purposes:

  1. Review professional mixes in realtime from the macOS application.
  2. Stream audio from your interface, file, or Audiobus compatible app in realtime to other collaborators on macOS or iOS.
  3. Continue creative work or making demos when you can’t be in the studio.
