Yes, i have one and it works awesome with the ipad, i do have a 12.9 pro with usb c and works fine. Im gonna get another at that price. I use it just for samples and my Toontrack SDX libraries.

You will love it with the ipad, its one of the fastest portable SSD’s out there and its tiny, barely bigger than a credit card!
