Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

The BeatMaker 2 store has become a web browser

Looks like tickets have been submitted at Intua with no response. I was kind of hoping I could use the web browser to download sounds from my splice account, but it doesn’t appear possible. Maybe someone else can come up with something creative.

  • I suppose porn is always a possibility....making dope beats to freaky BBWMWA porn 🤔

  • I just get a blank page when I try to use the BM2 store, so I’m unable to download the content I bought. I tried submitting a support ticket - no reply. No reply to an Intua forum message either.

Double tap the blank page a couple of times. What’s weird is the page that comes up is an ATT portal page with Web Store In TUA in the search bar.

I tried, but it doesn’t even do that for me. Shabby business, really.

  • I hate that company so much.

That’s exactly the sound store I get. In a way, it’s deeply symbolic of what Intua has become.

  • So yes, the darkness has swallowed the web browser...
Any idea how to place the files into the app (I have the full set installed in another device, and can move them into my old iPad 1, via iMazing, but placing them via a Purchases file didn’t work.
The samples are all there as are the .bmk2 for each kit and instrument, but they don’t load as kits and instruments.

  • I bought a few iap’s For BM2 and was never able to restore them even when the store was up, eventually just gave up and took the L. Keeping my fingers crossed and hope it never happens with BM3 because I have a lot of BM3 iap’s.

  • The big advantage of IAPs in BM3 is that you can zip them up and keep your own personal backups on your iPad, on your desktop computer, or in the cloud

BM3 has access to audioshare, Dropbox, and the full Files app, so transferring files to/from the app becomes much easier.

In the new iPadOS beta I've even been able to grab samples wirelessly from my main PC using an SMB share in Files app

Yep BM3 is much better in this regard and am glad of it, it’s my main hustle on my newest device.

Meanwhile, I’m trying to restore apps on a recently unbricked iPad 1. BM2 is beautiful in that it’s stable on that device (ios 5) but I lost the iaps when restoring. Tried to pull from my iPhone BM2 install but the .bmk2 don’t read in the iPad install. Samples are there and can be loaded and mapped manually, but that a pain.
Hoped someone had an idea on what the iPad version needs to read the bmk2s

  • IAP are a catastrophe in any case of problems with an App or it's developer.
I always prefer fully priced versions without IAP.
    Just to be sure

They can be an issue (certainly in this case, though understandably, as it’s an app that’s been superseded, and up to a little while ago the shop was still maintained).
For the benefit of the developer, and the user by extension, IAPs are a way to fund further development..

There is big difference between IAP features and IAP content.. content is hosted at dev's servers so if something is broken with that server, you cannot access them... It's just dev's responsibility to keep it available.

IAP feature is something different - the code of feature is packed inside app always, all the time, it just unlocks itself when you pay - this means just minimal potential of going something wrong. And if it happens, it is usually just matter of time when Apple fixes their shit.
IAP content is different thing, yeah there is customer completely in hands of developer.
