Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
QuickTime Player for easy iOS Audio Input
If you've got your device plugged into your Mac - just fire up QuickTime Player - Select a new Audio Recording - and you should see your iOS device as an input source in the drop down. No IDAM or other special sauce required. No need to record either - can just use for playing through whatever outputs you've got set up on the Mac. In AudioBus you'll see in the Output the "System Capture" device.

@Aud_iOS Thank you for that very handy tip. Great to listen to latest sonic journeys while iPad is connected + charging and/or backing up.
Also works with iTunes, or even iTunes + app audio.
Cult of Mac picked up this post and we got a Forum shout out! https://cultofmac.com/623098/how-to-record-apple-music-from-your-iphone-to-your-mac/
I wonder if it depends on the iOS device. I just tried this and my iPhone 5c doesn't show up as an input source
Any chance this works with QuickTime or iTunes for Windows 10?
I’m curious about this too... How would iPad 2018 or iPhone 6s to PC with Windows 10 work?
Nice one!
Huh. The author has a bunch of iOS Music related posts. https://www.cultofmac.com/author/charlie-sorrel/
Are you lurking here under a different name Mr. Sorrel?
Edit: Heh at me writing "Mr. Sorrel" because I reckon the author is actually @mistercharlie. :wave:
@syrupcore You got me!

@mistercharlie @syrupcore Thanks! I got quite a thrill out of the experience. I was reading my Apple News feed when I saw the article pop up, then I popped back here and noticed only like 60 people had looked at this post - and never made the connection between @mistercharlie and the article. It was great fun and rewarding to see a shoutout to the forum here, to which I could never contribute as much as I receive.
