Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.Download on the App Store
Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Live compositions, which apps to use to be unstoppable on iOS?
Live compositions performances are very fun and interesting to do.
I find Gadget very efficient for that, nice recording looping mode with quantize, easy to arrange scenes, you can really make a full song without stop transport. Only real BIG limitation is no scenes triggering via midi.
Using various AU in Audiobus recorded in Loopy slots works quite well too, even if it’s a more complicated setup. It’s possible to control everything by midi. But CPU management can be a problem quickly, it’s also harder to use lower than 256 buffers latency in that configuration. Quantize also misses, waiting for Photon.
How do you manage that and which apps do you use?
