Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • whaaaaat? that’s awesome!

  • I gasped.

  • It’s almost impossible to use, though, even on a big iPad Pro.

  • There is a God after all.

Is that due to too small knobs and stuff or CPU usage?
For me the UI is a big no-no, it hurst my eyes...

  • Now is my chance to build a Beardymam beardytron on my iPad!!!

This is great news. Still iPad only, but I can live with that.

  • Wow, yeh, UI is challenging but welcome to the party all the same.

Dropping IAA and AB support (also breaking existing set-ups according to the patch notes)... sign o the times?

Agreed. And I don't mind putting on glasses to read his fine print...

  • it works great in apeMatrix, needs a good host etc

  • So what’s the diff between Turnado midi and turnado in Cubasis?

  • It doesn’t scale up any larger than that for me, so a full, full screen would be nice but I’m not complaining ;)
Everything is AU parameter ready as far as I can see too.

Au music effect means you can send midi to it (audio effect with midi input)

So it shows up with an input port

Looks like they are not aware of GB’s full screen API

  • It’s not full screen active yet that’s why, same problem in Audiobus.
I guess they might add that some time. So best hosts to use are ones which you can custom resize the window.

  • omg! I've been waiting for this day for so long. What a pleasant surprise. Happy Monday everyone!! :D :D :)

Oh nice! I'd already been using Turnado with apeMatrix, but this is gonna be pretty sweet as an AU

    Yum yum :)

  • Sugarbytes sure make some ugly apps

IF other devs thinking the same, AB would be obsolet.....sometimes ok, but maybe sooner as we think...

  • Now I only need transport in Audiobus 3 to become midi mappable.

    Why you ask?

    Long story ;)

    WOW too please :)

Maybe, but they sound and work so damn good.

  • I honestly thought for a sec someone was posting a cruel joke. This... ...speechless...

Managing okay on an iPad Pro 10.5 under AUM. App sounding rather good. Breath of air, etc. :)

Even if the big push is for AU we'll be needing multiple solutions for integrating all the apps that don't go that way.

I'm glad we have choices, even if some may become a bit redundant.

If AB, the app, became obsolete I'd still pay to fund the forum. :)

  • Wow... so much bigger now in BM3... fantastic...
