Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Music Visualizer recommendation?

My goal to have an app generate a sort of psychedelic random video from my song's audio file. If I could do some tweaking to the visuals that would be great. But I want the bulk of it to generate from the app.
It could be a Mac or iOS app.
Recommendations?
Thanks

  • I’ve looked around for generative visuals with an Audio input but I have never found anything on iOS. There are some that are both audio and visual but nothing that takes an input. Love to hear if anyone else has found something like this. Right now I just do it by hand with Fraksl and uzu.

  • Projectmilksyphon for the Mac; which is free. It can run as a stand alone; but it might need a host, like VDMX5 to output HDMI to a projector or HDTV?

I think Takete on the iPad might drive videos from audio?

  • Tunr for macOS and iOS

    https://www.soundspectrum.com/tunr/

I used it on this video:

And a couple others on my channel.

  • Me too! The best I got was milkdrop through winamp on PC, that is automatic.
To me psychedelic is colour shift especially blue and lots of fractals. If you want to do it like that on and ipad I would get Frax and do some editing in LumaFusion, it would be amazing but it's far from automatic.

  • Aside from something like AfterEffects I’ve had some fun with this one.

Spectrum - Music Visualizer by Y. MOCHIDUKI https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/spectrum-music-visualizer/id1198408205?mt=8

The downside is that you have to use iTunes playlists to feed it the audio.

  • Wizibel. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wizibel-audio-visualizer/id1169944763?mt=8 Try the "Kaleidoscope" theme and/or the "Manic Cake Slicer" theme. It can be as simple or as complicated as you want. You can set things to change along a timeline (much like music automation). It can even display text or not. Only caveat is it only displays in "portrait mode", even on an iPad. Very easy to use, and $9.99.

  • The most Pro AV ipad ones I've come across are K-Machine and TouchViz, but they require some work to use, but K-Machine can process audio in Audiobus receiving slot. TouchViz responds to midi, K-Machine is getting midi soon too I think.

@echoopera Nice video! Does tunr work with live audio? If so, how do you route it into the app? I use AUM with a bunch of hardware synths and would love to have visualization like this during a live performance. Thanks!

K Machine can also connect as an IAA effect, which means you can plug it directly into AUM.

Unfortunately it only works with prerecorded content.

  • VideoFx Live on iOS

TagTool is amazing but you'll need an artist to drive it.

On Windows, Magic Music Visuals (MMV)
