Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
The Five Gadgets LE Challenge!
Now here’s a topic that’s actually all about Korg Gadget.
So Korg’s Gadget LE is a far more limited version of the full version of Gadget. While I was originally going to post this challenge as the “Grand Gadget Non-IAP Challenge”, after watching Doug’s superior video on what comes with a fresh install of full Gadget, it really wouldn’t be that much of a challenge. Korg Gadget LE is FAR more limiting, which would prove to be a real challenge!
Gadget LE has the master reverb, master limiter, and IFX disabled, although it looks like the internal effects for the included gadgets are usable and fully automatable. Parameter automation is fully there. Only Marseille, Dublin, and London are available to use (unless you hook the iPad up to Korg hardware, which also unlocks Brussels and Amsterdam). It only allows you to use up to 3 tracks (up to 5 if you hook up Korg hardware to the iPad). It does look like you have access to unlimited scenes, but no Dropbox/Audioshare export.
SO, given the fact this IS a challenge, here are the guidelines.
IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE FULL VERSION OF GADGET...
- Just download Gadget LE and use it to build a track.
- All genres welcome.
- Export it to Allihoopa. (It looks like you’re unable to export it any other way aside from iTunes.)
- Post the link to your track and a screenshot of the Gadget project.
IF YOU HAVE THE FULL VERSION OF GADGET...
(There’ll be a tiny bit of leeway.)
- You can use up to 5 tracks instead of just 3.
- You can only use Marseille, Dublin, and London as well as Brussels and Amsterdam. You can use multiple instances of a Gadget so long as the number of tracks doesn’t exceed 5.
- No IFX nor DeeMax. However, the Master Reverb and Master Limiter are fair game. (ProTip, use the internal effects within the available gadgets as well as automation.)
- Unlimited scenes, unlimited automation.
- All genres welcome.
- Export it to Allihoopa. Or you can export it to Audioshare and upload it to Soundcloud if you wish.
- Post the link to your track and a screenshot of the Gadget project.
IF YOU HAVE THE FULL VERSION OF GADGET (but are masochistic)...
- Download Gadget LE and follow the guidelines as if you never had the full version of Gadget.
No deadlines, no time limits (can be as short or as long as you see fit). What can YOU create with such limited means? Cheers, and looking forward to hearing what you can make. I’ll be partaking in this challenge and posting my track here too.

Interesting - sometimes limiting yourself can drive creativity. I might have a shot at this.
Spent the past hour trying to partake but am experiencing an unprecedented crash fest from our good friend Gadget.
Alrighty, things are rockin' on my Mini2 with a fresh install. Always preferred the form factor of the mini anyway.
Dude, this is a fun challenge! Thanks for reawakening the Gadgeteer in me.
@u0421793 Nice track.
Thank you.
I like these Gadget challenges. We did a similar one about a year ago:

An entry to the challenge, this uses one London (drums), two Marseille (e-piano and sax) and two Dublin (bass and synth). I went for something more jazzy and free-feeling rather than the EDM which is perhaps more expected from Gadget. Anyway, I hope you like it.
No time now to create something new, but here's the first thing I ever created with Gadget (LE) just trying out the app before deciding whether to buy it. I created this while sitting and waiting at the airport. Sadly, it was lost when I upgraded and stupidly deleted LE, and I could never finish it because I don't exactly know how I made it. Pretty sure it's just 3 instruments and either 3 or 4 tracks.

Challenge accepted.
Thanks for the idea jwm.
Gadget LE– 3 tracks(1 Marseille, 2 Dublin)
It’s an overly extended intro. Please turn the volume down.

Here is my first attempt at using Gadget LE. Nothing too interesting but fun to work on one the less.
I reinstalled Gadget just for this challenge so I'm using the "Full Version" rules.
Screen shot.
Bumpin so more people can see this before it sinks into the depths and is forgotten.
Alrighty that was fun, maddening limitations!

Three tracks but, full disclosure, I gave it some DeeMax and some post mix work in Cubasis. Free download for a limited time. Trying to put this together as a five track mix now.
First time hearing your stuff AudioGus. Bangin' track there
Nice evolutions!
How did you rename the scenes?
Thanks - I never knew that was possible!
Not only that, if you listen to the whole song (not that anyone has yet, I imagine everyone got as far as the first 20secs and thought the rest is more of the same) you’ll find that there isn’t (or shouldn’t be) any actual repetition!
Yeah, that was nice!
Awww thanks folks. .
Jeez Gadget is fun now. When did it get audioshare import?
@u0421793 Great track!
How can I hear @AudioGus track without installing Dropbox?
@keenan. Thank you. I tried that already, but when I hit direct download, it opens another page in Safari with a media player, but no file is there to hear. I looked to try to find the Download on my iPad, but I have no idea where it is or if it actually downloaded.
Sorry about that, I just tried it myself and nothing happened
