Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Record video while listening to a backing track at the same time

Hi

Can this be done with a smart trick:

Listen to a backing track or a recording done with GarageBand or any other multitrack recorder.
Now at the same time record, a video with a mic or guitar hooked up to my audio interface.

Thankful for any kind of hints!

Kind regards
Joergen Astroem

any interface should do this, either on it's own or with the help of Audiobus or AUM.
The latter two create virtual channels to which you can connect multiple apps.
(some interfaces create their own virtual channels)

OK I'll have to try that. But I have the impression, that any app playing a backing track will stop playing as soon as I start the video camera on my iPhone?

  • I think Haq Attack did a video on how to set this up. Look up his YT channel.
