Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

I tried the following, which sounded very nice.

Sad thing is, that it crashes after a short time.

Memory usage constantly goes up - and then it crashes, no sound anymore.
    CPU stays quite constant

The above supposed to be the AudioBus preset, but I think I don't know to correctly upload this :-O

Anybody has ChordFlow and iSymphonic and dares to test this?

I exchanged iSymphonic with Beathawk, also 4 instances:

The CPU stayed fix at 20%, the memory at 90% and nothing did crash.

So it seems, that iSymphonic is the problem!

  • I tried the same with iSymphonic running in Cubasis .
There, it also crashes - with the following message:

Is anyone able to use iSymphonic at all?
    It just crashes :s

  • I also tried AUM, to the same effect:

  • I payed money for this and was planning to get some of the IAP packages!

    Not anymore...

  • Working here, air 2 running through AB3. iSymphonic did need to be brought back to the front, but it worked after that.

    Thanks for testing!

Did you use my preset above?

As I already tried the full-reboot, the only option left would be to reinstall iSymphonic and test again.
    Will do so

I reinstalled, started iSymphonic once, then made a full-reboot and loaded my preset again:

It took not 2 minutes and it crashed again!

  • I reduced the instances from 4 to 3 and it look longer to crash.

  • My bad, I missed that AUM was involved. Nor did I test with the AU version, just AB3 and "Apps" as in/outs.

  • I just tried AUM and Cubasis as alternative to AB.
But the crashes were the same, regardless of the host
