BM3 - using the pads in keys mode.
Apologies for starting yet another BM3 thread but this is a pretty specific question.
Is it possible to change the configuration of the Pads in Keys mode?
I really like being able to play notes with the pads rather than they keyboard. To me this makes much better use of the touch screen interface. However I'm used to a Linnstument/Geoshred layout where the grid of notes is arranged as
(i) going up by a semitone each time you move one place to the right on the X axis Like BeatMaker 3)
(ii) Going up by a perfect 4th each time you move up by one place on the Y axis (not like BeatMaker 3 which appears to go up by an augmented 5th on the Y axis).
The Linnstument/Geoshred layout is generally pretty much accepted as optimal for square tessellations. See for example http://smcnetwork.org/system/files/smc2011_submission_169.pdf which states "Of the square tessellation, we easily conclude that intervals of perfect fourths in the vertical axis and semi-tones in the horizontal axis provides the most advantageous approach to constructing and performing melody."
As far as I can tell, this is not configurable in BM3 unless I load 64 instances of the same AU synth and then set the note for each pad individually, which is impractical as I'd need to repeat the process for every single instrument and would also presumably be resource intensive.
Unless I'm wrong and this is already possible, what's the best way to make a feature request for this to Intua, and is there anyone else who'd like to be able to customize the pads configuration in keys mode in this way?
