Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
iOS ad blocker that deals with FB ads?
Does such a thing exist? I’m covered on other platforms; that’s easy, also free.
Am willing to pay actual real money for this, if need be. But it absolutely must annihilate all FB ads, preferably while on Safari.

adguard.
I use NextDNS with a Facebook hosts file. That has the added benefit of not only blocking ads, but also blocking the whole of Facebook and every single domain they own.
Best way to block Facebook ads is to cancel one’s account.
Very interesting.
Any link to this file?
The App „Friendly“ does that and all kinds of other useful stuff:

So, there just isn’t an adblocker for Safari on iOS that deals with FB ads?
Sad. So many other things can be dealt with, and FB ads are so easy to kill off on other operating systems…
The problem as far as I see it is that iOS doesn’t allow adding custom filters so you’re stuck with the one default filter list the browser/adblocker contains.
Another alternative is getting a raspberry pi with pi hole. It will block all ads for your entire network and all connected devices. But it’ll only work in that network…
Pi-hole.net
Good plan
Yes, I'm planning on setting up a pi-hole soon too.
@tja The Facebook blocklists can be found here: https://github.com/jmdugan/blocklists/tree/master/corporations/facebook
As a fuller explanation of my setup, in case it helps others...
Use AdGuard for Safari (Mac) - this has excellent built in block-lists and also lets you select items on a page that you want it to block. It's by far the best I've found. It's also available for iOS.
I have a Raspberry Pi running AdGuard Home - this is like running a PiHole, but much less troublesome - I've barely had to touch that since setting it up. You basically set that to be the DNS server for any device connecting to your network and it filters out the requests to ad servers and malware etc.
I've then got the Pi using NextDNS as its upstream DNS provider giving a second layer of filtering. That's absolutely not necessary though - you could just as happily use one or the other. NextDNS is an absolutely brilliant service.
Also, never use Google Chrome.
Fantastic, @FastGhost
Thanks!
So far, I use 1Blocker on both Mac and i*OS and am very happy with this.
But it does not offer such additional block lists.
Going to check your information ... I don't yet have a Pi.
May change 😅
@tja For ease, I went with a Raspberry Pi 400 which is built into a keyboard. It's a great little device and has been running uninterrupted (aside from a house move) for a few years now.
Great, thanks!
All are sold out in my region :-D
Can anyone 100% confirm (or deny) that Adguard for iOS actually does block all FB ads, when on that site in Safari? If it does, I’ll happily pay for the Premium upgrade. But seriously, I need to know for sure.
Is this such an Ad?
Then, it does not get blocked by 1Blocker
Yes. All “sponsored” posts are ads.
This is why I block every Facebook owned domain at the network level and you should too: https://themarkup.org/show-your-work/2022/04/28/how-we-built-a-meta-pixel-inspector

Those trackers will also be blocked by 1Blocker!
That is more horrible than I thought.
And honestly, I am wondering how this can be legal!
It really is, yes. As for how, well, our all-but-corporatocracy (a plutocracy for certain, anyway) places a higher priority on profit margins for the wealthy than on quality of life for the majority, or even in some instances, our survival. Right on up to the sustenance of life as we know it on Earth.
So, in that context, a bit of light data harvesting, ramming ads down our throats, and so on … is on the distinctly mild end.
Still annoying as hell though.
