Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Just a rocker šŸ¤Ÿwith expensive gadgets - a song about making itself, Audiob.us and G.A.S

This would go in the ā€œgeek meta-songā€ category and I made it with this forumā€™s wonderful members in mind. Iā€™d say many will relate. So specially on this occasion I hope you like it!.

Recorded in Loopy Pro, mixed in Zenbeats. Features a lot of the new auv3, cos theyā€™re new, including Tonex for guitar (which I quite like).

Lyrics in the spoiler.

Elon Musk is afraid to fly
Ron de Santis gonna make it right
4 abortions on a weekend night
Favorite passtime in junior high

I got me pedals on a loop back, tight
I got the digitakt blinking ay
Audiobus doing all right
I got a loopy brain to last all night

Im just a rocker with expensive gadgets

  • Great track. Somewhat remanencent of LCD sound system which I love.
I also love the message. All sorts of hysterical buying is indeed capitalism and should be kept in check. It is about music and not the gear although I still feel uncomfortable even saying it šŸ˜¬šŸ™„šŸ˜‡

  • Love the bass line and the overall vibe. Good stuff.

  • excellent! voice and guitar are great!

  • Nice! lol@grandpa twerking

  • Great production man!

  • Itā€™s giving Mike Patton, M dot Strange, Beck

    Good stuff!

  • You use capitalist like itā€™s a bad thing.

Without it you probably wouldnā€™t have most of the things you now consider to be human rights.

Iā€™m not even going to get into what I think about capitalism cos itā€™s hardly the point. Iā€™m first and foremost making fun of myself!. Isnā€™t it obvious?.
But to say that capitalism brought human rightsā€¦ wow, thatā€™s a big one.

And OF COURSE G.A.S is an obvious expression of capitalism. Thatā€™s 100000% undeniable!. Embrace your contradictions, theyā€™re a part of you.

Thanks!. LCD is one of those a bands that I love but hardly ever listen to. Which are the best comparisons.

I just made it up as I went along. I was looking at the pedals, the mixer, digitaktā€¦ Iā€™ve never had so much gear and Iā€™ve never played so little (age, fed up of band practice, etc). But itā€™s ok!. Iā€™m singing that Iā€™m enjoying it but at the same time itā€™s sort of pointlessā€¦ Iā€™d say most of us in this forum feel like that at one point or another, donā€™t we?.

Thanks man!. Thatā€™s an old phaser on the bass that sort of squashes it in a nice way. BTW I used Tones on the guitar and I remembered you saying it was bright, too much for you. Youā€™re right, it does seem a lot brighter and I never though about it but I guess I like brighter guitars.

@jo92346 @Edward_Alexander @magnusovi thank u all for taking the time to listen and the nice comments.

@taeo i totally see the Beck angle, Mellow Gold blew me away back then. Mike Patton?. I donā€™t know where you get that from but hell yeah!.

  • _I have no idea about the first part of the song (for or against Elon and DeSantis?) but the tune is a banger and I love the video.

  • I like it! Thanks for the Thxgvn entertainment. šŸ‘šŸ™

  • Love the video, very entertaining!
This is a superb recording, vocals are excellent and love the bass and guitar tracks.
    Enjoying this a lot!

Thank u!. Iā€™m definitely against but I donā€™t why the popped into the song!. šŸ™ƒ
I donā€™t enjoy writing lyrics, they are in the song but itā€™s not music, itā€™s a different mental process I donā€™t find as fun. So I just do like automatic poetry or something where I donā€™t filter much and whatever comes outā€¦ Sometimes you surprise yourself and in a way is more honest (and very quick!).

But maybe sarcasm/irony is not as easy to get to get across as one thinks, you have to be good at it. I was going to do a #BlackFridayMatters thing and held back in case it was too much. Iā€™m not a good lyricist, itā€™s a whole different brain area. Iā€™d be better in Spanish but I hate how I sound in Spanish, itā€™s a whole different person. Thatā€™s actually a good conversation, thereā€™s something about English language for music that just works better imo.

@ReneAsologuitar thanks for the kind words, coming from a helluva singer it means s lot.

@LinearLineman i need to know what ā€œThxgvnā€ means!. And Iā€™d rather you explain it than Google it.

  • @tahiche i think @LinearLineman means Thanksgiving. I hear a little Bowie, maybe Peter Murphy too, but my ears are weird. Dope song either way. Curious why you donā€™t like how you sound in Spanish. Years ago I tried to write a song in Spanish and I thought it would be a disaster but ended up being one of my best, lyrically speaking. I had never even written a short poem or tried to rhyme in Spanish before that and ended up with 32 bars (rap) + a chorus and a hook when it was all said and done in the course of one sleepless night. Spanish is my first language although I grew up in the states and have a public school education that involved very little writing in Spanish. I writing another song in Spanish now and itā€™s coming along nicely though not as effortlessly as the first.

Have you heard ā€œVamosā€ or ā€œIsla de Encantaā€ by the Pixies?. I wish I could unlearn Spanish to sing it like that, fresh and fun. But I see what you mean, Itā€™s probably not the language, but me. Iā€™ve always listened to music in English. And maybe also the fact that Spanish is like my ā€œday jobā€ and switching language helps me engage. I really donā€™t know, psychological I guess, I have the impression I sound too serious in Spanish, over-dressed, I havenā€™t found the spot.
Man, Iā€™d love to hear your song, Iā€™m curious. Pleaseā€¦
BTW I love the references. Gimme more weird ears!.

No Iā€™m not, but send some turkey!.

  • Love everything in this. I can hear so many influences but it sounds completely unique at the same time. You rule ! Buy another pedal or two (šŸ˜‰) and make more like this, please.

Yes I will!. And if I dare ask Iā€™d love to collaborate with you, pedals are great but it gets lonely. We could be Simon & GASfunkel !!

  • very good, lot of work gone into this, and a very catchey hook

Thank u!. The recording was very quick, Loopy is great for that, just find a riff or beat and do stuff on top. Mixing takes a lot more time, I donā€™t think thereā€™s an app that nails it, theyā€™re all a little bit finicky in one area or another.

  • Definitely ear wormyā€¦ and a great message to boot!

Thanks a lot for listening!. Iā€™m gonna google ā€œear wormyā€ nowā€¦ no idea what it means. That makes your ears warm?. By the context Iā€™m hoping itā€™s good šŸ˜ƒ

  • Itā€™s good ā€¦ Earwormā€¦ ā€˜a catchy and/or memorable piece of music or saying that continuously occupies a person's mind even after it is no longer being played or spoken about.ā€™

  • i remember late 80s socialism very well, probably should make a track about those times.
it could be called like ā€žNo Gear ā€“ No GASā€œ.

  • it not the music genre i listen to, but as a producer i can really admire the work, sound and the overall production which it sounds great šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„
