Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

AirPods Pro 2 have surprisingly low latency

Tested here:

Results here:

Quite surprised how much latency the built-in speakers have. But I don’t notice that, and I definitely do notice the AirPods.

So good enough for live performance?

  • I've got the first AirPods Pro and latency is very noticeable.
Not sure 126ms is good enough for playing live keyboards etc...

I'm not sure I understand how we can translate the author's way of measuring latency to the typical musician's setup, with a variety of sample rates and buffer sizes. I'll try to give this a try later today using a simple AUM session later today.

Great, that saves me a few hundred bucks I can't spare 😂

  • They feel exactly the same to me I’m music apps as the first AirPod Pro, but it’s good to see they are slowly getting better.
