Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Is Wotja 22 Pro 39.99can$ A one time purchase?
If I Purchase The App can I use it on my MacBook too ??

Hi, you did not say which OS is your main one but I guess it is iOS. :)

Wotja 22 Pro is the variant for 2022. It gets updates and support in 2022 only (we call it a "fullgrade"), but otherwise you can use it for as long as you want. We have a number of FAQs for questions in this area - see: https://intermorphic.com/wotja/help/#app-stores

Yes, for Apple devices Wotja 22 Pro is a bundle so the one purchase gets you the Wotja 22 Pro variants for iOS/iPad OS (incl. watchOS), macOS and tvOS. The iOS and macOS versions also include the Wotja 22 Pro AUv3 Plug-in and Wotja 22 Pro Safari App Extension.

    I hope that helps!

Yup, and you don't need an M1 Mac; the desktop app is a separate app included in the licence. (But you do need to pay separately for Windows or Android, because they don't know about your Apple ID.)

  • Hi all,

Wonderful! YouTube's algorithm then rather evocatively tries to play me a video called "Does the past still exist?"...

  • The past is definitely not what it used to be

  • A rather link heavy heads up for those in search of interesting sample sources.

After a Freedom of Information request here in the UK, Scotrail Ltd put the full audio file used in their automated station announcement system in the public domain. All 2 hours of it.

Inevitably, within days, this had been split into 2000+ separate files and transcribed via crowdsourcing. MP3 versions of all the files are here

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/172W6sXnvlr7UcNLipO8BTw417_KRz9c5

And the transcription database is here

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jAtNLBXLYwTraaC_IGAAs53jJWWEQUtFrocS5jW31JM/edit#gid=71727807

Obviously, I could not let this pass without notice :)

I culled a small selection of the more intriguing announcements into a sound font and laid them out chromatically from midi note number 50 to 115 for use in Wotja.

You can download that from here

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ycfyanstoqld9sy/Scotrail Misfortunes.zip?dl=0

(Apologies for the size but sadly sf2 format does not allow for audio compression so I had to convert everything to PCM)

There is also a demo mix in the archive. It goes like this

If you want to use them for yourself that's fine. Just be aware that ScotRail holds the copyright in these files. Under their publication scheme, the following terms apply:

Where ScotRail Trains Limited holds the copyright in its published information, the information may be copied or reproduced without formal permission, provided that:
it is copied or reproduced accurately.
it is not used in a misleading context, and
the source of the material is identified.

    Insert Number Station joke here

Genius. This is the generative content I am here for. I have definitely been on that train. Particularly around Corrour.

  • I cannot see the scale/key setting on Auv3 version.

Will the developer ever get the Auv3 version load the exact song/ state save.?

I'm not sure what you mean here - can you please give a bit more explanation?

Make sure you manually save the Wotja document changes you want to keep (as Wotja documents are "real documents" that are saved/restored separately via the file system) before closing your DAW project! The DAW project saves a reference to the Wotja document, but not the data itself.

  • Hi,

    Really enjoying using Wotja.

Is there a way to change the location of the Wotja data folder (I am using Wotja on Windows)? I would like to put it in my OneDrive folder for better backup. I can't find a way from the docs or the app.

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

Hi Jonathan, this has been something I've wanted to do for Wotja on Windows, and have it logged as a Feature Request, but we've not yet got around to it!

I hope that we'll do this at some point, but can't promise when... we're working on a really interesting new Wotja 23 feature right now, that is consuming all my time...

    Best wishes,

    Pete

  • Hi Pete,

Thanks for your response. No problem, it is not something that is blocking my flow (pun intended).

I have another question. Is there a way to specify the 'default scale' rule in a randomization preset (more specifically, for a flow)?

E.g., the major triad scale is really my happy place. For now, what I do is I use the mix interface, specify the default mix scale rule at the mix level, use the randomization 'randomize mix' to populate the mix from the selected randomization preset. Once in a while, I will manually redo a 'randomize mix' to change the mix (but it keeps my specified mix 'default scale', which is cool).

It works. But if I could specify this 'default scale' at the randomization preset level, I could leverage the 'flow' functionalities: automatic mix change, 'next' player function (e.g., on mobile with the screen locked, I can 'play', 'stop', 'next', 'back' the mixes flow, like any music player).

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for asking! Yes, this is another one we've been wanting to do - but have not (yet!) got around to. We have a very long list :) but user feedback such as yours always helps us in adjusting the order we do things, so again many thanks for asking!

    Hi!

Sorry, no documentaries that I can think of!
