Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Simultaneously the most challenging, annoying and frustrating, whilst also the most satisfying, fun and rewarding!

But this is just a regular cat!

To set the right tone for the thread, I thought I’d start by saying ‘Clips auto-grow (recording)’ in Drambo 2.0 is one of the greatest inventions in recent recording history.

It’s so beautiful, you hit Rec & Play and it just sits there looping a single reassuring bar, waiting for you to play your first note.

Then, as you play, it grows bar by bar, with you, capturing everything you play, for as long as you want, as many bars, and takes, as you want, ready for later editing.

No looping to selection, no having to wait for the right point to come around again.

It’s like a really attentive engineer that’s in tune with what you’re trying to do.

Amazing job @giku_beepstreet and the beta team.

    Oh yeah!

I have my frustrations with Drambo but I’ve written so much music that I don’t care.

I dream if the moment when it gets audio clips and hopefully a timeline. I would need no other daw.

In this case it's the pieces to assemble Schrödinger's cat that are in the box.

  • I’m sure your frustrations are on the roadmap, just let me know which of them are the biggest

  • Add in Templates for 12, 16 and 24 track projects.

The simplified add ‘Track’ in Main is wonderful but having to do it for each new project isn’t 😉.

I hope this would also help the masses in understanding Drambo isn’t limited to 8 tracks.

You may save your own template, just save to /Templates folder. You can set default template in Settings

Sorry @giku_beepstreet how did I skip over this? I think No.1, for a lot of people, is in fact Recording external MIDI eg Scaler 2 etc, direct into a clip without having to resort to workarounds.

The ability to get the MIDI into Drambo, from wherever my initial sketch is, would enhance the creative process immensely.

(I’ve edited the first list to include this at No. 1). 🙏

    It's on the list.

    I didn’t realise that 👍😍

Slight issue, Track Pads currently accommodate up to ‘15’ only 🙏

How do you gain 24 tracks?

Add in all the note names in the Piano Roll to remove the guesswork

And make them clickable to select all notes that match…

    And for the piano roll:

Remember the last velocity and note length when adding a new note

Add a helper buttons like NanoStudio when you make a note selection that let you easily move transpose and change length of the notes without having to be so precise

Let the piano roll compact to only scale notes, and to only used notes like Korg gadget, in this mode when you transpose chords they stay in the scale

    Implement piano roll undo

Let me hide or lock the step sequencer it stresses me that some times I delete or add steps by mistake.

I’m ultra happy with Drambo don’t get me wrong 😂

  • Is there a way to rewind or start from the middle of a pattern?

  • How likely is a timeline for Drambo in the relatively near future?
