Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • Sorry to be ‘that bloke’ but can’t you just list them here? There’s no point discussing it here if you don’t.

    Apologies I'll edit the post.

Perplex on is not strictly iOS, but he does a lot on his iPad and iPhone, and is consistently inspiring.

@PeteSasqwax has a very informative channel

    Playpm is great

Benn jordan did a good episode on iPads, wish he’d do more!

    Then there’s Eylvy too.

And Mylar Melodies did a good episode about playing moogfest with just his iPhone

No worries no need to agopolise :-)

There are loads of channels on that list I’ve never seen… will have to try and take a look when I have some time.

Gavinski's Tutorials is my favorite one. Specially since he abandoned the tutorials part, and decided to simply be Gavinski. I appreciate these short videos, in which he simply enjoys doing sound experimentations, which is the thing in which he excels. Incredibly inspiring material.

Regarding tutorials, SoundForMore is my favourite, by a large margin. He does deep tutorials of intricate and complex applications from indie developers that nobody else is trying to explain. A Youtuber doing iOS music production videos only obtains my respect when he has covered Igor Vasiliev's works. To learn how to use Cubasis, I already have a manual, and it's faster than watching a long video.

  • Dan baker channel for GarageBand enthusiasts is a must watch imo

All great channels indeed! Yes I try to keep the videos on our channel short to around 10-20 minutes but the focus of the channel is not to teach Cubasis, it's to teach music production, Cubasis is simply the vehicle through which that happens. Eventually there will be sound design and music theory videos as well but all done inside the Cubasis DAW.

    Personal favourites.

Henny Tha Bizness - He has wicked grooves coming out of his fingertips.

The Sound Test Room - His sheer enthusiasm is fun to watch.

Jakob Haq - Down to earth style

Gavinski’s Tutorials - His shorts are sonic pleasures,
visual stimulating and concise works of Art.

@seonnthaproducer - He has natural delivery and leaves cliffhangers
so that one can engage with and he can sing.

Though there are other creators here on the platform

Honourable mentions in no particular order.

    @LinearLineman @echoopera @supadom
    @Edward_Alexander @flo26 and @Paulieworld

  • @Gravitas The Sound Test Room was my favorite resource when I first started making music on my iPad.
Although we have never met, I feel like Doug is an old friend.
Very knowledgeable , and seems like a really decent guy.

    Same here.
I’ve mentioned it before in another thread I’m sure,
whenever I went looking for information for any app
either a video from The Sound Test Room and Jakob Haq turned up.
It’s also because of them that I also discovered the Audiobus Forum.

    Agreed.
His live chats are always fun and he does seem like a decent guy.

  • Thanks @MobileMusicPro.

    It’s well deserved dude.

I saw how you upped your level in regards to videos and content.
    Very enjoyable.
You’ve been asking engaging questions and listened to advice.
With every video and piece you’ve recorded you’ve grown as an artist and producer.
    Really cool to see.

    You’re welcome.

    There’s definitely more music coming.

I took some time out to write a series of short pieces, almost prose
which took a little bit of time in developing and to start preparing
for my first full on iOS electronica album.
There’s quite a few tracks so bear with me. 🙏🏾

Yes! A list of creatives using IOS for their productions would make a great follow up article
from @MobileMusicPro with a thread posted here to patch all the holes. Thats a win-win-win.

I remember this. Lovely and fluid.

Lol, I just noticed your spatulated fingertips. My early teacher, Mr. Feldman, sported similar.
    Perfect for a piano player!
