Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

2022 iOS App Sales & Discussion

Happy New Year! It’s 2022! Just getting the thread started. Nothing yet.

There is plenty of carry over from 2021, over 150 music apps still on sale.

See 2021 iOS app sales & discussion.

https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/42928/2021-ios-app-sales-and-discussion#latest

Just a reminder or for those new to the thread, if you have the means to donate to my Kofi account, please feel free to do so, it would be greatly appreciated. If not, that’s ok too, I’ll still be working hard to bring you a list of app sales curated towards musicians and creatives. I figured I’d put the link here, on the first post, so everyone can easily find it if need be. Happy 2022, Cheers all!

True. And at some of the pricing points, I feel like I get money’s worth even if I only spend a couple hours with it.

In other words, you are wishing for either great self-discipline or a mediocre year for new music apps. :)

Honestly I've got no huge expectations for 2022.

FF Twin 3, SunVox 2.0, BitBoy Studio and Korg might drop iProphecy and iTriton which are still interesting.
And the naturally the 'Epic' Drambo update :sunglasses:

We'll get the usual updates for existing apps (with AUv3 support) if we get lucky...

I don't expect anything new 'revolutionary knock my socks off' and totally unique to drop.
(I'm 99.999% sure we won't be getting Logic Pro or Ableton Live for iPad this year).

There might be a shedload of new $1.99-$4.99 'Download, Use Once or Twice & Delete' apps popping up...
...some of which without doubt will get YT-Videos trying to convince us how 'awesome' and 'spectacular' they are.

The most interesting 'app drop' of 2022 will be iOS16/iPadOS16...
...and 2023 when the new OS features start to tickle down we might see something 'fresh'.

I've been in this 'iOS Game' for too long so to get me impressed and excited will take a miracle o:)

    Cheers!

But the year has just started. ;) I’m guessing we’re at a point now that we’ll start to see many more desktop quality level apps hitting the App Store, taking greater advantage of the increased CPU power of M1 chips and more storage space.

True but I doubt that will change the situation...
...iPadOS & macOS are still quite 'different' so what point would there be for a developer to drop full versions of the app for both macOS & iPadOS?

This is why I feel we'll have to wait and see what iPadOS16 brings to the table...
...even though Apple has said they will never merge the two OS:es this is something the some users want.

Hopefully the next generation of iPadPro's bring back the improved headphone jack found on the new M1 Macbook Pro's...

The iPad works very well as a 'remote' for Logic Pro and I think that's the way it will stay...
...I'd love to be proven wrong but even if Apple would drop Logic for iPad I doubt it will be the 'full' version.

Time will tell where things go but as said I'm not expecting any miracles this year :sunglasses:

One trend I see on the horizon is using machine learning to help engineer multitrack recordings. "A.I. Assistants" are going to be huge.
