Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

    Thanks for clarifying! 👍

goes to join Facebook Drambo group

  • Excellent new, wow! More reasons to talk about Drambo!

I take this post to ask a stupid question because I'm often asking myself a lot of stupid questions: is there a difference between let 's say, a saw wave on synth A and a saw wave on synth B?

Do oscillator always sounds the same? To my ears, yes, but I'm just a noob so, who know's.

When we talk about virtual analog synth, is this because the oscillator sounds more "analog"?

    Thanks.

short answer, yes. It's why you can find wavetables of various saws from most any vintage synth you can think of. Slight variations in shape and stability can create lots of tonal character.

It's a lot like wine. If a glass of wine is just as good as any other glass of wine, then you're probably not that into the subtleties of wine.

Nice thing about Drambo is that you can drop any old waveform you want in the wavetable osc, layer as many oscs you want, with a really nice selection of filters and so you can build some pretty huge sounding instruments.

  • Usually the character of a synth comes from the sound shapers (filters, gain structure or even the type of envelopes), these are fairly easy to recognise / distinguish. That said, a lot may depend on the shape of an oscillator/waveform: imperfections, variances are part of the charm when it comes to analog sound.
So in short, there will certainly be a difference between two analog OSCs, and there may be a difference between two VA (or digital) OSCs. You can check and see the differences with an oscilloscope.

  • All I can say about that

  • Man, that’s some pimple.

  • Drambo remote? Be in 2 sections of the same project at the same time on different devices? :p

  • But why Facebook?

    cringes at the thought

Bingo! Did you see "Why I'm Not On Facebook" on Amazon Prime Video? A very funny and instructive doc. It will only add 10 good reasons not to be on FB to your present lists of reasons not to be on FB.

  • I will soon call my iPad my "Drambo Machine".
