Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
RIP Frankie Beverley
From a 2009 NYT review:
The band’s shows are rehearsed rituals, working up to a rare and special audience feeling: deep, sentient serenity, not the usual kind of lose-yourself pop catharsis. It’s done by repetitive funk in slow to medium tempos, without a lot of instrumental flexing; moderation is everywhere. Maze’s songs aren’t marathons, but five or six minutes long. One of its two keyboardists, Carl Wheeler and Vance Taylor, is often holding a steady tone as backdrop, while the bassist Larry Kimpel and the drummer Chris Johnson make the rhythm pop. The songs slow the heart rate, establish hypnosis and spread altruism. They don’t take you to the other side of consciousness, or make you forget where you parked. But that’s all right.
