Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Such a bad start given they delayed for so long yet still have missing fundamentals. No need to rush in though, they have a habit of undercutting the launch price with a sale price just months later, according to the last few apps they launched
    Source: AppRaven

    Which apps would that be?
My experience has been the opposite in the past; drum apps released with intro price offer, and more than 12 months passing before a short sale would briefly touch the intro price level again.

    A quick demo in AUM.

    Sounds good.

Is all the midi from helium on the same track ?

Is there something in one shot that will only respond to a midi note, where as another hit not ?

Does one shot have a swing function and is it midi mapable ?

Whats the difference than using drambo ( 4 velocity layer sampler ) With found or even these samples ?

OneShot is a sound module, how could it have swing? That is a sequencer function.

OS contains 8000 samples. Sure, you could try to build that in Drambo, too, with enough patience. Besides, there are plenty of other differences (choking etc.). Better watch their intro video.

About "Installing extension packs" - I asked Klevgrand support if there is (would be) a way to buy extension (drum kit) just for iPad and answer was "the price for the Kits are the same as the desktop version. They work for both".
I love Klevgrand but I'm not ready to pay $39.99 for just one kit.
EDIT: Wow, I'm positively surprised. I've heard back from Klevgrand support and they're trying to work it out.

I see a price of $9,99 for one kit:

I checked only Jazz and Unholy drums. Both are per $39.99.

  • Flexible choking, across any slots. Could be remade in Drambo with time and dedication, but you wouldn't get this compact UI.

    Dont think Drambo has choking.

Just asked about swing ( in hopes of magic )

Already built a drum machine beast in drambo.

So even using any other drum sequencers, loses most of the per track functionality or seems kind of hassle.

Iv got a velocity sampler next to each drum au, per track. So can choose.

But would need to check other sequencers or see how Drambo uses note to one shot or one shot blocks notes ( for easier sequencing )

For the sake of probably better acoustic samples.

Module au will always be better than this type of drum machine.

Provided the host could deal with chokes.

  • Does any app used to make velocity layers, lose velocity layers if sent to another app for triggering ?

    iPad OS import fix

    Deleted. Duplicate post.

  • If you load samples from OS to Fac Drum.

    What do you lose ?

You only get the first few seconds of the sample, not the entire sample :sunglasses:

Yes, and the midi is from Ugritone (metal drums)

Is there something in one shot that will only respond to a midi note, where as another hit not ?

    !?

Does one shot have a swing function and is it midi mapable ?

It's a professional thingy so, yeah!

Whats the difference than using drambo ( 4 velocity layer sampler ) With found or even these samples ?

    No clue.

  • Oh man, I'm so excited to dive into this thing. Just loaded it up to see what's what and I'm digging the presets a LOT

Hooking up launchpad shortly to start effing around with these and see what I can fk up xD

Velocity layers and round robin are such a delightful combo!

And now I won't have to scour for new drum kits for a bit!! Or find something I like on Pianobook only to find a dud of an upload

This has just lessened a LOT of my near-future worry of overuse of the handful of kits I currently use

Thanks for a very comprehensive tool that I was hoping to find when I started figuring out what I was looking for!

(AudioLayer and Drumdrops have been my main source for this kind of thing.... And this is sooooo much easier on the wallet than building an 'individual kit purchase' library)

    Thanks Samu.

So a sample triggered in OS or Drambo sampler ( where you add velocity zones etc )

Will be the same in Fac drum ?

    iPad OS import fix

Good to hear. Already made my vid but luckily not uploaded, I'll add that info in as an overlay card. App was definitely beta tested for far too short a time, and likely not enough testers either

    My dilemma.

I get 16 sounds per track, with a load of additional modules, instead of a 1 shot.

All I need is choke per track

So kick is dominant ( mainly when using Euclidean sequencers )

I can probably just p- lock solo or mute for drums so auto fills is only heard.

Not using swing per track here as it dosent work with euclidean ( which is naturally swung )

You can also make drums fm if you need.

My best bet is just triggering acoustic drums in fac drum?

Reason why i were asking question.

For me to use app means an entire different template etc.

  • Maybe OTT.

12 tracks with 16 sounds per track. Not including p-lock sounds.

    No clue.

Is the Ugritone and actual physical drum set ?

I can see how that might work well with one shot.

A midi controller drum set, where basic midi capture is enough.

    Hmm.

    What a twit ( A £500 ipad just for a drum machine )

Although there are perks ( maybe not )

Its easy to sequence on different tracks anyway to 1 au.

  • &Samu: I’m just getting to know Logic Pro for iPad and I just went into command Center and changed the font . Thanks yet again, and yeah I hate the channel strip tiny fo t in Cubasis .

@Gavinski from the manual. Yer it seems limited for sample import can’t believe WAV files are not supported? What format does it take ? Just sayes audio files or ext .slot files !

I don't know about anyone else, but that's not good enough for my purposes. I'm sticking with the drum options I already have on desktop.

Wav files are supported, of course they are, don’t worry about that!

FAC Drumkit doesn't support velocity zones as far as I know and only uses short samples truncating longer samples on import.
Just play around with the apps and discover what they are capable of...

  • Well, looks like it’s just you and me, Rassel.

  • I bought the Jazzkit when it was $10 (I don’t own the OneShot desktop plugin but they said it would be compatible with iOS). I just installed the Jazzkit to the OneShot app and it sounds great. This release is a big deal IMO.
