Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
App for recording one shot samples?
In Digistix2 it’s possible to record samples via trigger/threshold and on top of that there‘s an auto stop function that cancels the recording when the signal falls below a certain threshold.
I find this super convenient for recording one shot samples, e.g. percussive sounds or drum kits from my desktop DAW drum plugins.
This way it‘s possible to sample a pretty comprehensive drumkit in a short amount of time, without having to edit each sample afterwards.
But of course it‘s only limited to 5 samples per pad and there‘s no way to export these recordings.
My question: Is there an app out there with the same functionality but with the option of exporting the recorded samples?
Thanks guys!

Yes, Drambo's Sampler module has a super fast sampling feature.
You just hit a MIDI key to sample to that key, and release the key when the sample has ended.
The samples are available over WebDAV/WiFi and in the Files.app.
I don't own Drambo but I'll have a look at this, thanks!
@Gravity, there is a way to export those recordings. It was mentioned via another thread.

Thank you very much, that‘s gold !!!
If you have FAC Envolver, you could do this in Loopy Pro -- FAC Envolver's role would just be to detect the silence to trigger stopping the recording.
It’s essential information for any Digistix 2 user!
I’m surprised Paul (the MusicMan, the developer of Digistix 2) didn’t include it in the user manual considering how useful it is. Cheers.
Koala has threshold in but i don’t think out. Its the quickest and easiest sampler I’ve ever messed with. I use it for everything i sample
@Robin2
Very useful indeed. Considering there are 4 banks with 16 pads and 5 slots each there‘s space for 320 samples. Cool beans!
Naming the files would be another thing but you can‘t have everything. Thanks again!
Cheers Rs.
Always wondered how to use this sampler.
Now the drum ipad I always go on about but never use.
Is a 12 track Euclidean or standard drum pads to normal Drambo sequencers. Fac drum per track or an acoustic sample player, either chosen through a mixer to fm layer modules or not. With swing, frequency shift, retrig, chance, adsr modules, per track. Through to bus fx resonators/reverb and also master fx.
Loop slicing with Koala on another track, to make hits recorded with Drambos sampler. For the drum tracks samplers.
Obviously it isnt real.
Same. I use Koala to sample one shots from synths via AUM, usually into a dedicated project which then I make a track with in Koala standalone. One of my favourite workflows.
Amazing app! And with the 404mk2 integration, man!!! So much fun
Hell yeah it is an amazing app! I made a few EPs just using Koala (although mastering it in Logic, and now I switched to Cubasis to master my tracks since I cbf transferring from iPhone to iPad all the time lol).
AH! Also, one other thing. @HotStrange would definitely chat your ear off about the 404mk2 integration. He has the same set up.
Are there any recommended tutorials for setup and workflow concept for sampling to Digistix thru Loopy?
I've done vocal sample recording and editing for trap beats on koala via my android (before ios and loopy took over). And while I'd integrated Koala early on into Loopy for resampling, I never really developed a feel for it
And as im learning about system load, system intensive plug-ins, and finally diving into lofi production, im quickly seeing this as a skill i need to learn
I haven't done much with digistix, but had grabbed it for another idea a while back that kinda fizzled. The roundrobbin bonus just puts it over the top for this, it seems
(I can follow written tutorials, but if someone made a vid that answers it pretty directly, that just seems to work better for me)
My drum machine.
i used to think ios drums wernt even as good as a volca drum
But bet there isnt a hardware drum machine as comprehensive and maybe not even desktop using vsts in hosts ( because of lack of touch screen, I guess )
You can subcribe for £9.99 to gain the drum or just copy the vid lol.
The ipad should maybe handle it but 12 Fac drum instance. Hopefully a mariana bass. Punchlab and Saturn 2 plus all the modules to build the drum machine and fx ( dunno )
May need a drum ipad upgrade, maybe not.
The 12 tracks do have a Faderfox pc12 for euclidean and a launchpad for choosing a hit from 16 from each of the au tracks.
Apart from the euclidean though.
Dont need controllers. It just slows down the screen flow.
Thats what I think is good.
The screen is more sensible than reaching for controllers.
First few tracks are euclidean.
Next is just pads
Next is through fm
Next is triggering the zone sampler.
Not using swing per track in demo though. I think thats what makes the drum machine 100% cool.
edit
Iv now added a 13th Fac drum with the autofills app to 11 more audio outputs so they also get a send resonator.
You can copy and paste across Fac Au.
Its too good for you peasants.
