Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

HoRNet HarmoniQ by Hornet Plugins (Released on iOS)

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hornet-harmoniq/id6503445750

HarmoniQ provides an intuitive and powerful solution for cleaning up your sound by removing Inharmonic sounds that contribute to audio muddiness.

Acoustic instruments and complex sounds often carry a mix of harmonic and inharmonic elements. While the harmonics enrich your sound, the inharmonic frequencies create unpleasant sounds.
Traditionally, removing these unwanted frequencies required manual equalization-tedious and time-consuming. HarmoniQ revolutionizes this process with real-time analysis and automatic filtering, making it the perfect inharmonic equalizer for your audio needs.

Key Features:

  • Real-Time Audio Analysis and Filtering: HarmoniQ automatically analyzes incoming audio, detects the fundamental frequency, and identifies inharmonic frequencies. Our advanced algorithm then applies up to 50 precise filters to eliminate these unwanted frequencies, ensuring a clearer, more refined sound. This advanced approach to harmonic equalization guarantees your audio tracks retain their natural warmth while removing disruptive elements.
  • Adjustable Effect Amount: Control the intensity of the filtering process with the Effect Amount knob.
Scale the reduction of inharmonic frequencies from subtle adjustments to aggressive filtering:
100% Effect Amount: up to -18dB cut per filter.
50% Effect Amount: up to -9dB cut per filter.
Balance the natural character of your sound with the need for a focused audio signal, enhancing your harmonic equalization efforts.

  • Smart Learn Mode: HarmoniQ simplifies setup with two Learn Mode options:
Auto: The algorithm stops learning when the number of filters stabilizes for 10 seconds.
On Stop: Learning ceases when you press the stop button in your DAW.
These modes ensure the harmonic equalization process is as efficient and user-friendly as possible.

-Delta Function: Evaluate the impact of filtering by auditioning the difference between the input signal and the filtered output signal. Fine-tune your adjustments with confidence, ensuring your harmonic equalization is spot on.

  • ByPass: Temporarily disable HarmoniQ to compare the original and processed signals.

  • Reset Button: Restart the entire process, including fundamental and inharmonic frequency detection and filter application.
These features make it easy to manage your harmonic equalization workflow without losing track of your original audio quality.

  • Load and Save: Save and recall your favourite settings to streamline your workflow and maintain consistency across projects. This is particularly useful for harmonic equalization tasks that require precision and repeatability.

  • Frequency Range Controls: HarmoniQ now includes "Lower Limit" and "Upper Limit" controls to restrict the processing to a specific frequency range. This allows for more precise control over which part of the audio spectrum is being equalized, providing even greater flexibility and accuracy in your sound shaping.

what our customers say about the HorNet HarmoniQ:

"Unmissable in any mastering chain... Just gives that final perfect professional polish !"
"This equalizer offers excellent time saving, and the result is very relevant"
... great plugin at a price that could easily be double..."

It launched with a little error but the full unlock IAP is currently being worked on with Apple. So expect a fix. Unlock price will be $9.99 (intro price)..then increasing to $12.99 end of the month!

  • I thought it was free, lol. Still, a tenner isn't bad for something like this. After my next gig.

I wonder if this would be good for reducing wind noise from wind instruments 🤔

  • Hornet makes some of the most affordable plugins for desktop - and they’re good

  • Very cool to see him expanding into iOS. He has some great plugins and the pricing is way too low. I love sleek, and bought harmoniq (both on Mac) but haven’t used harmoniq yet. I use many of his other plugins as well.

  • Desktop version is 90% off for 2 days!?!

So, the error is that it is not free?

Probably so. But, that's okay. A tenner isn't bad for what's advertised on the box. :)

  • Could someone post a before and after? Ikm famous for muddy tracks. Not so sure I want to give up that distinction, but I’m game if someone can show me it does the job.

I never heard a muddy track from you yet, afaik. I usually clean up mud with rolling off the lowend of most signals (unless it's the kickdrum and main bass).

  • Maybe not how I thought an app could be.

    An AI scanning aum noodle.

Deciding it knows what you would have done and re-tweaked all your synths etc by remaking noodle.

So noodle is less muddy/distorted but will see about this app.

  • How do you purchase it anyway? The button does nothing here?

Reduce enough wind noise from a flute and you get a sine wave.

  • Tried it with some tracks on various DAWs with Master Full Band preset, it’s pretty darn good! Definitely cleans up what my mess sounds like. The IAP is showing me $8.99 I think that might be worth it for what it does.

Some of my biggest mixing challenges are with recording world flutes and ukuleles. Sometimes the breath noise is overbearing to the point of detracting from the mix. Similar to vocal sibilance in a way. I often am able to notch out something in the 3K-4K (ish) range to get it manageable. I'm hoping this helps me find that easier.

Also with ukuleles I often get finger noise that needs quelling.

I grabbed the Desktop deal so we'll see how it goes

It'd be real cool if you could just automate it with the dry-wet. Bought the desktop version for 3.50, we'll see how it goes...

    LOL!

  • Sounds very similar to Scaler EQ? Anyone have both and compared them?

  • IAP is purchasable now

Well reduce enough harmonic content for any sound and it will be a sine wave.

  • If one already owns Type A, could this still be useful for mastering?

This would be pretty different from Type A from what I can see (I don’t have this). This will analyse your audio and allow you to filter out frequencies that don’t fit with the scale and key you are playing in, for example. A bit like Scaler EQ, I think. Could be useful for cleaning up muddiness etc in a way that Type A is not designed to do. Might not be a must-have though, people have been mastering fine for decades without these kind of things
