Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

App Sliced saved me so much money and was my primary app reference.

I shall miss it most sorely. :(

I wish the App Sliced webmaster nothing but the awesomest of awesome from now on. <3

    Edit:

    @onlydeals said:
Not a website, but AppRaven is good. I find sometimes that sales listed on AppRaven aren't listed on AppSliced, and vice versa, so having both was nice...

@onlydeals , Thank you very much for the AppRaven recommendation, that shall ease my impending app hole (so to speak :P ) by a significant margin.

    Hi everyone!

You can use my website, AppAgg, as an alternative to App Sliced. It's more useful and powerful.

    You're welcome!

And does adding an app to a list create a notification for price drops AND IAP price changes? There’s no Notification settings on your website

  • I wrote to App Sliced's webmaster, who provided some details about why the site was shutting down, along with permission to share them here.

And thus, here are some reasons why appsliced.co is shutting down, direct from the horse's mouth.

    I quote:

    • Apple stopped accepting App Sliced and most other similar apps to the App Store in 2012 (it seems there are a few apps still around, so perhaps something has changed). The service really needs an app to succeed.

    • The App Store affiliate program was killed in 2018. Until that point, I earned a small percent from every app sale generated via App Sliced.

    • There has been a general shift toward freemium apps over the years, which means fewer paid apps going on sale and less overall utility for the site.

    • Ad revenue is terrible for the App Sliced URLs that list app sales. The “Ask” section of the site performs much better, but that traffic has been decimated by the rise in generative AI (and my lack of new posts in that section).

    • In 2023, I discovered a pretty sophisticated bot attack generating fake user accounts that seemingly had the sole purpose of posting spam links on each user profile. The emails were all valid and actively subscribing to App Sliced newsletters, which incurred thousands of dollars in fees to my email sending provider before I noticed. I disabled new user sign ups via email because of this. There have been a number of strange attacks like this over the years.

    • My method for tracking in-app purchases is expensive…so the cost keeps increasing as more folks use it (this is also why I do not track every IAP).

    • The site has been running on autopilot for 7 years and you can definitely tell by looking at it. It’s getting slow and the frontend needs a complete rewrite, but I enjoy my day job and would rather focus on it than spend months updating App Sliced.

    • Apple is adding price drops to the Books app. I would be shocked if they did the same for the App Store, but hopefully they will. https://9to5mac.com/2024/07/17/apple-books-in-ios-18-adds-new-feature-designed-to-save-you-money/

Thank you @appagg. Let me ask you after my first brief look because I can't see some fundamental (for me) things.
Is there an option to filter music apps only?
Is there an option to see also discounted IAPs?

When you create/edit a list, you can setup email notifications for price drops. Also you can use your favorite RSS readers. But, alerts for IAP price drops not exists and never be exists.

Of course all these fundamental things exists. AppAgg is more powerful than any similar websites/apps.

Where and how do you set up the email notifications from a new list?

Also IAP notifications already exist in AppSliced and also AppRaven and are fundamental to a clear view of price. Is this something you will look into?

    Great news about your CSV!

It looks like there was a misunderstanding. You mentioned that alerts for IAP price drops don’t exist, but that’s not entirely accurate. Although AppSliced mentioned that it was expensive, it shows that the mechanism to track IAP does exist. They didn’t cover all IAPs, but they did manage to cover every one that I’ve selected. AppRaven also tracks IAP. This isn’t a huge issue, but it might affect the usage of your site since competitors are offering this feature.

I know, right? The whole advance notice banner, plus the opportunity to export our entire app activity histories, and the prompt reply with such a detailed itemised breakdown? Super considerate and thoughtful, and in my experience exceptionally unusual, definitely.

I personally was very impressed by all those acts for sure. They must surely raise such a person's humanity rating by at least +117 in my estimation, I reckon.
    :p :)

As for me writing, I thought that after providing such a useful helpful comprehensive service that saved me so much money for so long, and all this while asking absolutely nothing from us in return, I thought the site owner deserved at the very least a thank you from me, so that was what I did.
    :)

  • Now you can import your App Sliced CSV file into AppAgg:

Unfortunately, there is no normal way to track IAP prices.

  • The topbanner at App Sliced is gone. Are they still closing?

  • It wouldn’t be so bad if they hadn’t decided to do it on my birthday…

From AppRaven: To welcome all newcomers from App Sliced, AppRaven Lifetime will be discounted by 50% by the end of the week. We hope that AppRaven will be a good replacement for you. Welcome and enjoy! (And everyone else as well!) 🎁

I am working on a way to import wishlists exported from App Sliced as well as making AppRaven run in your web browser, everything should be ready in 2 weeks!

  • My code if anyone wants to try premium for free for two weeks:

Worth trying Pro out for a day or two before deciding on getting the discounted Lifetime IAP.

Sad to see a good resource go away. I used app sliced ages ago, although now a days I just use Appraven, not only due to the price drop notifications, but the user curated app collections are a really nice way to browse for good apps since the official appstore browsing experience sucks.
