Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

The Decent Sampler Album

I set myself the challenge of making an album with all of my Decent Sampler instruments… turned out I had 50.
Each instrument could only appear on one track.
No effects were allowed other than a bit of TB Reverb every now and again.
I finished up with 14 tracks, all made in AUM using one or more of GeoShred, 4Pockets Euclidean, SnakeBud, StepBud, ZOA, ChordJam, Piano Motifs and the AUM keyboard.
Any comments gratefully accepted…

btw… the instruments are all Free !

  • Good sounds, Tony. Nice productive summer you got goin’.

  • I’m giving it a listen right now, you think it would ruin the atmosphere if you listed some of the instruments?

  • Nicely done. I liked Chalawan and Kamuy the most. Thanks for also listing which instruments you used in the description.

  • The instruments are listed in each of the the Soundcloud track descriptions @Drrabbitfoot , usually in the order that the instruments come in.
Cheers @LinearLineman, they are not the greatest pieces of music in the world, more a vehicle for demoing the instruments but I enjoyed the project 😊
Thanks @JodorowskyV , that was some rapid listening 👍

  • So far Chalawan is my absolute favorite excellent fun sir! And thank you

  • Some great sounds in there. I wish I had Gacrux for something I just finished. I have Decent Sampler, but haven’t used it much yet. I will make a point of picking up those free libraries. Free is good! I can’t imagine what those would have cost 20 years ago. Thanks for posting.

  • I don't usually comment on other people's music for fear of saying something stupid. But I was already having a really beautiful day listening to this while sitting on my balcony, when some old friends showed up. I haven't seen them in years, and then Fafnir started up and, as a soundtrack, it was perfect for that moment.

I liked every track, especially Asterope, Fafnir, Gacrux, Kamuy, Nyamien. I found the whole album inspiring.

If this was pressed on vinyl you could call it:

    The Decent Sample Platter

I’m a big fan of your music even when you don’t recommend it.

Tasty Morsels from the Mind of GeoTony.

  • Many thanks @Drrabbitfoot , @Paulieworld , @McD and @abf 🙏
Like you say Paul, imagine what all of this technology would have cost 20 or 30 years ago 🤔
Fafnir is one of my favourites abf so glad you liked it.

Decent Sampler is the most bloated app on my iPad… weighing in at 180GB currently. I still add Decent Sampler compatible instruments as they appear at For those with fear of bugs, I haven’t had an install failure in the last few months from that site.

100+ instruments FREE. Audio demos available for most of them before downloading.

    Really inspiring to hear!
Those free decent samples are often great although I notice that sometimes when I go back to a project I've worked on there can be problems loading some of them. It will say some of the samples are missing and won't play anything. Stuff like that.

  • Cheers @MrStochastic . I had the missing sample thing for the first time while doing this album.
Just seemed to disappear? Reloaded it and it’s been ok since… very strange 🤨
