Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

EG Nodes is starting to really impress my workflow

I haven't seen a lot of posts lately on EG Nodes, but I've been exploring it more and more. I am starting to like the workflow and fun it's giving me.

  • I love it. I find it such a great idea enviroment. Problem for myself is I've hit a few limits that are just starting to push me towards Logic alone. It's not the fault of Nodes, it never claimed to have the little more midi and audio complexity I need.

The problem I see with these sort of apps, is that they can only really developed so far or they will probably become economically unviable for the developer. I wonder if the dev would be better using a similar model to Loopy Pro?

Yeah, but then look at Drambo and the same price..

  • My problem with it is I cannot find any fx sends or master level. It's quite ok inside another app like AUM, but alone I'm wondering a few things.

Yeah I often wonder how any of those one person developers keep in business - maybe they have other jobs too?

Yes, those are the sort of areas it lacks in. If only we could make Nodes and Aum get it on and have a baby lol

yes, I think it's maybe a hobby for some developers. Many musicians nowadays too don't make beans, especially if you are waiting for a Spotify check:)

It does have output busses though so you can do sub-mixes and a master bus. I've been doing that to put a master compressor/limiter on my projects. Like this:

I agree that FX send would be super useful though

Thanks for the tip. I haven't seen any new updates in a while, so I hope:)

The main four things I really would like to see are:
    1. Full multi midi use so apps like Prism can send separate midi to other nodes.
    2. Song midi export for each stem.
    3. Folders for the projects as I’ve got a long list now
    4. More song sections at least 16 instead of 8.
    5. A tempo node so that the tempo can be done for each song section and how it changes between them.

Yeah 1 and 2 are my most needed changes

  • It's cool, but for sure needs some updates soon.

  • Does anyone know if the developer is ok? The Discord has been silent for a while now.

  • I really like @echoopera ’s workflow shown here with Nodes + Segments

He was putting out many updates for a while with some nice tweaks, but for a while now it's been silent...??

He had a kid just around the time the app launched. He might have his hands full with all that

Oh I can understand that. I've been there before 3x:) Best to him and his new child.

  • Everything's great here, I'm just enjoying some family time :)
